Hate to state the obvious, but you can't "Bring Back the Guillotine" because America never used it in the first place.

Hanging seems to have the longest tradition and is also fairly painless if you have a hangman who knows what she or he's doing. We can hire them from Singapore until then.

The idea of an assembled audience also has some appeal, as well as singing hymns just to p*ss off the ACLU. Leaving them swinging for a half hour or so also provides a powerful object lesson to wanna be capital criminals. Plus we're not dependent on getting execution drugs from squeamish European suppliers.

Utah used to give them a choice of firing squad or hanging. Sounds reasonable enough to me and far less controversial.

Botched execution? Botched reporting!

His IV blew out. Happens all the time to live folks in hospitals. You don't like it, but you don't normally consider botched medical care. You consider it bad luck, at least the first time. Or you say you have bad veins. IV drug users will tend to have bad veins. They probably deserve more than their statistical share of death sentences. Should they be immune because of their past bad habits? I doubt blowing their own veins ever stopped them from shooting up.

When the perp's IV blew out they stopped the execution rather than start another IV. Then God killed him anyway. Then the perp's suffering really started! It all went according to the big plan.

I always considered the firing squad as the most honorable way to go tho I guess a lot of those guys don’t deserve anything honorable.

Still it should be effective.

I think we can get the criminal-loving commie libs off our backs if we refer to these events as a euthanization and stop using the word execution. The commie libs love euthanasia.

The cheapest, most cost effective, and almost guaranteed to succeed method is the firing squad. It eliminates a lot of appeals based on more complicated and expensive means; is very quick; and certainly assured.

There are no dangerous gases, no big electrical bills, and no unexpected suffering on the part of the condemned. And every prison is equipped with everything needed right now.

The punishment should fit the crime. We should care as much about the killer’s suffering as they did about the victim’s.

Our ancestors could be both cruel and brutal.

I would save “draw and quartered” for only the worst of the worst.

“Old Sparky” used to be the way Texas dispatched them.

I remember the UN and ACLU cried “cruel and unusual punishment” every time Reddy Kilowatt (brandname) sent a big tingle down their leg and up their a$$.

The Guillotine is you know... too European, hanging is good, firing squad is okay, but Old Sparky, now that’s the ticket, the only change would be to administer the current gradually.

At least for those who murdered their victims in a cruel and unusual manner, or they should be executed in the same manner as they executed their victim.

Any form of execution is humane as long as the criminal is unconscious.

KETAMINE and firing squad, guillotine, hanging, electric chair...anything.
