Has the Benghazi "smoking gun" been found? Some White House critics believe that new documents wrestled from the White House by Judicial Watch, a conservative watchdog group, prove that the Obama administration concocted a cover-up: Political advisers pushed a false story that the murder of four Americans grew out of a protest against an anti-Islamic video in order to hide a policy failure that might hurt the president in an election year. The documents clearly show that the White House pushed the video story, but there's also proof that the White House believed the story they were pushing.

It may now be laughable for anyone to suggest that the Libyan attack was spontaneous, but that's a question for the CIA, which made spontaneity its first and most durable claim that weekend. An intelligence failure is a different thing than a lie, and it should lead to a different set of questions about the underlying policy and skills of administration officials to accurately understand the world. You could also ask whether it's possible to make good policy when engaged in one-foot-in and one-foot-out operations like the U.S. attack on Libya. But those are policy questions, not cover-up questions.

Trying to cover up the evidence of the cover up....*LOL*
So they are trying to point blame at the CIA?????
While ignoring the fact the CIA is answerable to the White house....
Well Harry Reid was partially right. a couple of brothers are poster boys for the 2014 election.
All roads lead to the Rhodes.
The problem with the bad intel claim is that the inteligence groups correctly identified it within hours as being coordinated with AQ affiliated groups.
But it doesn’t matter because the audience of the author is idiots so they’ll believe whatever they’re told by CBS.
Wow, if this isn’t confirmation by denial, I couldn’t express what might be.
JAYSUS.
Just yesterday Carney swore these emails weren't even ABOUT Benghazi.
Make an effin' fist over there, will ya?

"Your Honor, my client NEVER borrowed the bucket from the plaintiff. Furthermore, when by client returned the bucket to the plaintiff, there was NO HOLE in it. Besides, the bucket already had a hole in it when my client borrowed it. Furthermore, my client repaired the hole in the bucket before returning it."
WHY were 30 CIA guys in Benghazi?
That’s the real scandal.
They were supplying Ghaddafi’s arms to Al Qaeda in Syria via the Turks, according to some sources.
THAT’s the scandal.
John Frederick Dickerson is an American journalist. He is chief political correspondent for Slate magazine and political director of CBS News.
He appeared each Wednesday on The Al Franken Show on Air America Radio, until the show ended in 2007, and was also a frequent guest on NPR’s Day to Day.
Dickerson co-wrote a July 17, 2003, Time article, “A War on Wilson?”, which attributed the leak of Valerie Plame’s CIA identity to senior Bush administration officials.
The Washington Post once wrote about his style of asking questions: The master of the game is John Dickerson of Time magazine, who has knocked Bush off script so many times that his colleagues have coined a term for cleverly worded, seemingly harmless, but incisive questions: Dickersonian.
Dickerson caused some controversy on the eve of President Obama’s second inauguration. As political director for CBS News, he wrote an article entitled, “Go for the Throat!: Why if he wants to transform American politics, Obama must declare war on the Republican Party.”

CBS’s John Dickerson: Obama White House Scandals are ‘Little Fires’
John Dickerson downplayed most of the recent scandals surrounding the Obama administration on Thursday’s CBS This Morning, asserting that the White House was “trying to get something done on immigration....they’re trying to stay focused on the things that really matter to this presidency, and only trying to spend a small amount of time putting out these little fires.”
This came mere moments after Dickerson acknowledged the potential for the scandals to affect the President’s legacy: “At the worst end...you get a feeling it’s a scandal a week related to the administration, and if that idea sets in that there’s a kind of, rot....that affects the President’s legacy.”

CBS Political Director Now: Obama Shouldn’t Agitate GOP; Back in January: ‘Go For The Throat,’ Mr. President
By Matt Vespa | March 22, 2013
Has Slates John Dickerson been replaced with a pod person? If not, the CBS Political Director is exuding signs of schizophrenia or sheer forgetfulness. While in January Dickerson counseled the president to “go for the throat” of the Republican Party, in today’s piece at the online opinion journal he’s calling for Obama to court Republicans on a “grand bargain” to avert the looming debt crisis.
Today, Mr. Dickinson used anecdotes and Sun Tzu axioms to convey the point that Obama should not be such an agitator if he wants a deal to solve our fiscal woes.

On CBS, John Dickerson Defends His ‘Destroy the GOP’ Column
By Matthew Balan | January 23, 2013
On Wednesday’s CBS This Morning, John Dickerson stood by his Friday column for Slate where he concluded that President Obama “can only cement his legacy if he destroys the GOP.” Dickerson answered conservative critics of his piece by claiming that he “wasn’t trying to give advice. I was trying to highlight, in a very stark way, what seems like an impossible-to-avoid conclusion about this second term.”
The liberal CBS News political director also repeated many of the points he made in a follow-up column for Slate on Tuesday [audio clips available here; video below the jump]:

“So they are trying to point blame at the CIA?????”
