Straight talk about gay Republican congressional candidate Carl DeMaio
Fox News ^ | 4/28/14 | Dana Perino

Let's pretend you're a screenwriter assigned to develop a character to run for Congress in California in 2014. You need a compelling story, so you make him an orphan at 13 – wait, even better his dad leaves the family two weeks before his mother died – and then social services splits up his brothers and sisters leaving him alone in the world.

Despite those challenges he perseveres, putting himself through a top-tier college and then building and selling two multimillion-dollar companies.

Thus financially secure, he decides to dedicate himself to public service and runs for City Council.

n his first term he works across party lines and four years after his first election he passes major pension reform that saves the city money and protects the retirement savings of thousand of people.

For good measure, you make him openly gay and in a committed relationship, the first to feature his partner in campaign literature. He’s the perfect candidate to send to Washington, D.C. and, of course, he’s a Democrat, right?

Wrong. The real story proves that truth is stranger and sometimes better than fiction. Your character already exists in Carl DeMaio of San Diego – except that he’s not a Democrat, he’s a (gasp!) Republican.

No one in Hollywood would write this screenplay -- unless it was a tragicomedy that ends with the candidate realizing the error of his ways and fleeing to the nurturing embrace of doe-eyed and loving Democrats. Exit weeping.

Isn’t his story what everyone who fights for equality says they’ve been fighting for?

When I talked to DeMaio, he said he doesn’t want to emphasize his sexual orientation or his challenging childhood – he prefers to talk about the fiscal condition of the country and his candidacy to defeat freshman Rep. Scott Peters, a Democrat.

So it seems that Mr. DeMaio is a "quiet homosexual", one who doesn't deny being gay but doesn't make a big deal about it. Indeed, he is what he is. Leftists acting, in their own words, HATEFUL and HOMOPHOBIC is nothing new. The late Ed Koch, dealt with this crap quite a few times. Even though Koch always denied he was gay, he's been consistentlt sympathetic to gay issues. It was the socialist workers party, back in 1962 when Koch ran for congress in NYC in Greenwich Village, that started the innuendos about Koch's supposed gayness, in a very negative light. In 1986, when Mayor Koch ran against il sfaccim Mario Cuomo in the Dem primary, his sonny boy Andrew, hired thugs to drive around with megaphones in Bensonhurst, Pelham Bay, Douglaston, Bayside and other "good" neighborhoods shouting out "vote for Cuomo, not the homo".

his 100 percent voting record with the LGBT community

I bet he's a fabulous guy; but I wouldn't vote for him.

“For good measure, you make him openly gay and in a committed relationship, the first to feature his partner in campaign literature.”

That doesn’t go with your assertion he’s a “quiet homosexual”. The guy is using his campaign to promote his destructive lifestyle. I’d never vote for him. He’s just another Dem.

Yeah, I read this Dana Perino propaganda. Does this guy think homosexuals ought to be able to re-define marriage?

I hate Dana Perino and will not watch The Five. Can’t stand social liberal, pro-gay, pro-amnesty establishment French Republicans like Perino.

I wouldn’t vote for him. He is a fag. He is an abomination. I practice loving sinners. I will go out of my way to help him find our Lord Jesus Christ, but part of that is cutting off impure paths of sin. We need to show the consequences of sin on this earth to help those in the afterlife.

Perino is pure beltway folks. She has about as much interest in helping the GOP succeed as Karl Rove does.

Looks like he’s a liberal Republican with his bi-partisanship and lockstep LGBT support. Not surprised a Lefty like Perino think he’s the best evah.

He's a RINO and a Nancy but I wouldn't say he's a "dem plant", other his gayitude he's a typical SOCal RINO. I hope he doesn't make the runoff (stupid Cali rules) though if he does, I don't know, a Nancy in the GOP fold is not something I want, but would we really rather have the rat?

Hopefully he doesn't make the runoff, the horse to back is Fred J. Simon, Jr., of the (unfortunately) TWO other Republicans running and splitting the vote, he's the one with the much greater amount of campaign funds, he has as much as DeMaio.

Now that other homo, the one in Massachusetts, Richard Sissy Takei Tisei, he's a very liberal DIABLO (remember that term? dem in everything but name only).

...a "quiet homosexual", ...

I wonder if that is similar to a "clean-cut, well-dressed, articulate Negro?"

“Guys a Dem plant”

NO, he’s not.

I knew Carl personally .. worked with him on election stuff. He’s probably one of the nicest people I’ve ever met (I can’t say the same for his partner), and Carl is a lot more polite than most people today.

His fiscal plan to save San Diego .. did just that.

I may not agree with his lifestyle, but for you to just blatantly lie about him is beyond the pale.
