Anti-government protesters have taken control of the regional administration building and prosecutors office in the city of Lugansk, eastern Ukraine. Protests continue as the deadline for the protesters ultimatum to the government expired.
The building is ours. Thats it, local protest leader Oleg Dereko told RIA Novosti.
A regional administration building has been taken by storm, an activist who asked not to be named has told RT. A coordination committee and militia are now inside and are getting ready for an emergency meeting.
The Ukrainian flag on the building has been replaced with Russia's tricolor.

What are they singing??
My Russian is so rusty I can’t keep up, and I wasn’t that good at it 20 years ago.
Some kind of anthem?
Twitter:
Police have apparently decided to surrender, crowd waiting for them to walk out.
Now people are singing Katyusha in front of surrounded police HQ... a song about a girl longing for her beloved.
see post 25 on what they are singing about
I continue to be amazed at what technology has allowed us.
I’m sitting in my home office, in the middle of an Indiana cornfield, watching historic events in real-time as they unfold, on the opposite side of the planet.
Interesting side note tcrlaf.....
Kiev has cancelled the annual military parade in the Ukrainian capital on May 9th when victory over Nazism is celebrated. Very telling wouldn’t you say?
I know exactly how that is....remarkable...and often we get what’s happening before it actually goes through all the editing at MSM.....I’ve learned to get photos as early as possible...otherwise they become distorted/altered and framed according to the leanings of MSM.

Given the situation, that is more likely due to mistrust of the military on the part of the coup government, than anything pro-Nazi.
Got any good ones of Berkut snipers shooting protestors on the Maidan?
RT just replaced the Lugansk live feed with the US State Department Daily presser live feed.
This should be interesting....
Some police, reported as young as 18,scared to leave building. Weapons gathered inside to be shown to ‘self-defence’
Tweet from Euromaidan PR:
“Sources in Luhansk & Donetsk Ukraine have confirmed that most separatists are either from Russia or Marginal local groups”
LOL... The children, too?
Baghdad Bob sounded more truthful.
Then they should keep their calm during the protests and demand a monitored vote (Crimea got one) as soon as possible. Enough of those maps have been posted so we all get it that a majority of people in these areas are Ukranian, but also a majority want to be able to speak Russian and to keep ties with Russia.
The Kiev gov is doing everything wrong, it seems. Example....unarmed people manning a checkpoint are not terrorists, and five of them being shot Easter morning was an outrage. They should be moving the vote forward as much as possible before they alienate even more people.
Negotiations on police surrender in Lugansk appear to have broken down over who gets to keep police weapons
