The MP, leader of the “Southeast” movement, former Party of Regions member Oleh Tsaryov, during the session of Coordination council of the Public movement “Southeast”, has made a statement that he withdraws his candidacy from the presidential elections.
“Two months have passed after the military revolution, resulting in the representatives of the radical neo-fascists forces seizing the power by force. The situation in Ukraine remains very difficult. Economy is on the verge of collapse. “Officials” cynically persecute dissidents, hundreds of activists are behind the bars, criminal proceeding were begun against them,” MP believes.
Tsaryov explained, he registered as a candidate for the presidential post to bring the voice of the Ukraine’s southeast to other Ukrainians.
“But Kyiv officials, violating all democratic norms, deprived me of such possibility. A visit to Kyiv to address the Ukrainian public is a threat to my life, participation in the TV debates at the national TV channel via videoconference was rejected,” politician claims.
He says he is withdrawing his candidacy since he does not see any effectiveness in such status.
“I made a decision to withdraw my candidacy, because I see that in such conditions the status of the candidate is inefficient. We will search for other information channels and possibility to bring our opinion and position to the citizens of central and west Ukraine,” Tsaryov pointed out.
The MP calls other candidates, whose electorate mainly resides in the southern and eastern regions of Ukraine, to do the same.
“The elections, held during civil war, should be boycotted,” he is assured.
