LOOK: Why Is One of the Largest Car Companies Moving From California To Texas?

The car-making giant Toyota is going to move its U.S. headquarters from the liberal state of California to the much more red state of Texas, according to several sources. The Dallas Morning News stated that the auto company is looking at a massive plant location in Plano, Texas — although an exact location hasn’t been determined yet.

Toyota’s move will involve over 5,000 employees. Many experts view this as a “win” for both Texas and its Republican governor, Rick Perry. The governor has been actively recruiting companies from all over the country to move to the Lone Star State, touting its low taxes and business-friendly environment.

“Building a business is tough,” noted Perry in a TV political ad, “but I hear building a business in California is next to impossible.” Apparently, Toyota executives agree.

Following the announcement of Toyota’s move, Governor Perry explained: “Toyota understands that Texas’ employer-friendly combination of low taxes, fair courts, smart regulations and world-class workforce can help businesses of any size succeed and thrive.”

Texas has been seen as a conservative role model for other states for many years. For the years 2012 and 2013, Texas was rated as the best state in the country for business by Chief Executive.net. In contrast, California came in dead last.

According to the non-partisan Bureau of Labor Statistics, the unemployment rate in Texas is 5.5 percent. In comparison, California has an unemployment rate of 8.1 percent, while the overall average for the entire country is 6.7 percent.

Better question is, what took them so long?

Because they are racist and want to disrespect the president.

If you want a California job, you’ll have to go to Texas, because that’s where they all went.

It’s a shame California’s business climate is so draconian.

You watch the politicans out here and you wonder how they think the state will survive.

They herald the illegal alien over citizens. They drive off business. They charge some of the highest state income taxes in the nation. Thy charge some of the highest sales taxes in the nation.

California was a major player years back. I remember when it was the world’s fifth economy. It’s now down to somewhere like 8th to 10th. Someone told me a while back they remember when the state was the 3rd world economy. And now it’s looks like it’s headed into a third world economy. What a shame.

The state is naturally diverse. It’s one of the most beautiful places on earth. No matter where someone has come from, you can find a part of California that look like home. I guess that’s why it’s so sad to see it run like hell.

Sadly this will accelerate Texas’s descent to blue state status. Then everything that made Texas attractive in the first place will wither away.

I'd guess inertia. They first started selling cars in the US in the 50s with HQ in California, probably because of its proximity to Japan.

One thing I've not seen in all the FR stories on this move is about all the jobs are moving from Kentucky to Michigan.

Keep it up, Texas. Keep on importing people who fouled their own nests...for the children. I don’t want to hear one damned complaint out of you dullards when the bleeding obvious happens.

Academia nuts and the fruit punch that runs the state now, have worked miracles. And yes, I’d wager a number of those academia nuts still wear tie-died shorts under their suit.

Actually, happily it won’t. But I guess some folks just “can’t stand prosperity”.

Because Taxi-Mexi-fornia sucks so much it’s blowing productive citizens outta there.

In any case, it’s good to get the productive ones out before the big one strikes.

This will only work out for Texas if they indoctrinate the newcomers into conservative thought, by pointing out why they left a liberal state.

"You watch the politicans out here and you wonder how they think the state will survive."

And as California goes, so goes the Nation. California has come to Washington DC in a Big Way - "Good Morning Mr. Obama" with not a single common sense idea in his 'brain', an IQ expressed by a negative number, no economic knowledge and only one though in his head - "How much can I scam them for before they throw me out?"

“They herald the illegal alien over citizens. “

Isn’t that like a farmer with a corn field going out tilling up the corn in favor of the weeds.....

Progressives love to see themselves as Farmers/Ranchers of other humans but they end up doing nothing but raising weeds and wolves...
