A prominent black leader is coming to the defense of embattled Nevada rancher Cliven Bundy, who was pilloried on Thursday after the New York Times published a quote by him referencing slavery.
He wasnt talking so much about black folks, but about the harm and damage that the leftist socialism has done to blacks, said former U.N. Ambassador Alan Keyes, who also is a columnist for WND.
Ammon Bundy, Cliven Bundys son, told WND that the quotes were taken out of context and that his father was commiserating over the poor situation in which blacks find themselves because of oppressive government programs, regulations and practices.
Keyes said that was evident.
I find it appalling that we basically have a history of the leftist liberalism that wants to extinguish black people by abortion [and] destroying the family structure, Keyes told WND. All of these things if you just look at the effects, you would say this was planned by some racist madman to destroy the black community.
Then when somebody comes along to comment on that damage, the leftists all scream racism, he said.
I think its time somebody started to recognize the racism that exists in its effects the hard leftist ideology using the black community for their sacrificial lamb, for their sick ideology. Its time we called them what they are, he said.
Now its racist to point it out.

Ammon Bundy said his fathers message was taken out of context. The point was that the government has kept them oppressed, he said. Theyve never been given a situation to be able to thrive, get themselves out of slavery. - See more at:
Shame on the "conservatives" who used this as an excuse (a very bad one) to not have to take sides against BLM and federal assaults on US citizens.
All these black people have no idea what they’re talking about. A crew of idiots said it was racist so it is.
Who do these black people think they are?
There are a number of so-called Freepers who claimed the incident was sufficient reason to not only abandon the Bundy's but to loudly turn against them.
A “slight” correction here. In another affirmation of my Tagline, the Times published PART of a Bundy quote. Once again they made the “news” fit their “views”.
Frankly, I’m sick and tired of being correct here.
Are those who withhold comment automatically ‘Racist’ certified?
The hysteria the media wishes to foment all too oft is much mildew over a small spill IMHO.
agree. The whole racist meme was just a way to smear Bundy and foolishly the talking heads on the right took the bait. Countless people on Fox News seem to want to now comment on how racist Bundy was. You have Hannity backpeddling now and throwing him under the bus and guests of his all took turns hitting Bundy like a pinyata with the racist stick.
And we should all remember their names for the future/in future posts. And treat their claims of ‘conservatism’ accordingly.
Mr. Keyes will be ignored because he’s left the plantation.
These are most likely the same people that say to vote for a RINO instead of holding out only for a conservative. These are people being used by the left and they will happily call them their useful idiots to stay in power.
A number of them attacked conservatives for refusing to vote for Romney.
Hannity is a no talent douchebag
“A crew of idiots said it was racist so it is.”
Lots of dingbats on FOX were all too eager to use the Media Matters and NYT versions without hearing the whole thing.
Just being honest, Bundy could claim the inspiration for his remarks came to him from Bill O’Reilly and Sean Hannity, both of whom have been hammering for months now (since Trayvon Martin) on the breakdown of the black family, black single motherhood, black abortion, black on black murder, and black dependency. All of it, they have been saying is a result of the breakdown of the family and that’s a result of dependency programs run by the government.
In Fact, BOTH O’Reilly and Hannity have wondered if blacks are any better off. To be fair — they didn’t say ‘better off than slavery’ — but, the point is some time in the past before all the government programs.
As much as I like Alan, he is hardly a ‘Black leader’
> There are a number of so-called Freepers who claimed the incident was sufficient reason to not only abandon the Bundy’s but to loudly turn against them.
I stood by him and got slammed for it. People don’t even question why the government should collect grazing fees to the tune or a million plus dollars or how it can create create new fees out of thin air by laying claims to charging you taxes on the tools, furniture, and equipment YOU paid for to run your business then making you pay income tax on top of that? That’s double taxation That sounds more like the mob to me. Now if they own the land and want to charge him a “reasonable” amount of rent (lower than standard rates) to allow him to use the land I think that would have made more sense to me.
WTG!
