Now through early Saturday morning it is nothing but John Wayne movies on Turner Classic Movies.
Link to TCM where you can peruse their schedule to maximize your viewing pleasure.
I was hoping to see ‘The High and the Mighty’ on the list. :-(
It’s going to be a great week for watching TV while freeping!
Baby Face on at 2:30 a.m. EDT. Past my bedtime...
The Quiet Man is good but Donovan’s Reef is my favorite
DVR it
BTW Kristinn in SO CAL we have so called regular tv station that showing CLASSIC movies one is Movies tv network other is Sony own GETTV
Thanks. I just got GetTV on the cable system. Good backup when I’m not interested in TCM fare.
“The Searchers” has to be Wayne’s best.
I watched part of “The Big Trail” today. The duke looked younger than I’d ever seen him. Movie released in 1930.
I second “The Quiet Man.” Old woman hands The Duke a switch, ostensibly to use on Maureen as he drags her over the countryside. He takes it with a big “Thanks.” lol Never uses it, of course.
Movies tv network coming to other station group keep eye on it TCM start sucks lately showing “newer movies” lately only redeem part is Sunday silent nights that pretty good
In May they announced going be Frank Capra movies being spotlighted this month is Bil Holden turn
There rumor going around classic movie blog they finally going release THE BIG Trail on Blue ray pretty soon
I’ll keep an eye out for that other movie network. I enjoyed the MGM festival TCM just wrapped up.
That's a fact. I bought the Blu-ray from Amazon.com for $8.99 (plus shipping). I also got The Big Trail on Blu-ray from them but it cost a little bit more.
That network run by Parmamount and 20th Century fox they have theme days prime time devoted to Legendary star Popcorn movies are cult movies on Saturday afternoon after 12 midnight est they show 20th and Parmeont Crime noir films
On Sunday morning they show Mystery movies
I saw Charles Chan with Warren Oland other day
LOL. I watched that movie at least 45 years ago with a couple of friends at a Saturday matinee. I still remember some black actor (on JW's side), scaring the bad guys in a bed sheet saying,
"I is the Phantom! I is the Phantom!"
ping
I have to go along with “The Searchers” for the best western. I sure like Maureen O’Hara(sp) in the roles she played. The perfect woman to stand up to the Duke.
Sounds interesting. I’ve been exploring old movies and old TV of late with the new digital channel programming.
Glad to see that they have included my faves....and there are so many
The Quiet Man, Shepard of the Hills, McClintock, Sons of Katie Elder, Back to Bataan, heck most all of em
Mine too
