Two brothers were working to restore a Detroit home this week when their lives were suddenly put into extreme danger.
The two men and their friend had just pulled up the homes driveway in their van. Thats when one of the brothers told WBJK-TV a young black male, about 30s walked up to the drivers window.
[He] had a little grin on his face, little smirk on his face. And he pulled a gun, pointed it right in my face. He pulled the trigger, the other brother, who was not identified, told the local Fox affiliate.
The trigger was pulled twice.
And it misfired, one of the brothers said.
If it wouldnt have misfired, I wouldnt be here talking to you today, the brother the shooter aimed to shoot told WJBK.
The driver of the vehicle then attempted to maneuver the vehicle and shake the gunman loose, but the suspect smashed the passenger and back windows and started gaining entry into the van.
One of the brothers then attacked him, while the other retrieved a bat and started striking the gunman. They ordered him to stay on the ground, but a getaway vehicle arrived and at least one person helped the suspect into the car.
However, he didnt get far. The suspect left his wallet at the scene and Detroit police were able to use his information to identify and apprehend him.
According to WBJK, the gunman is now behind bars and facing multiple charges. Authorities are still searching for the driver and any other individuals who may have aided his attempted escape.

The joke's on the two decent brothers - the perp will be back on the street in weeks - if he's not already out.
Bloomberg would be happy - the honest people weren't armed- and the gang bangers were armed. Next time the honest men should be armed with more than a baseball bat.
I’m thinking the guy stuck a magazine in the gun and didn’t know he had to jack a round into the chamber. “I don’t know why it didn’t fire, I put the bullets in it!”
“Kym prosecuted Kwame Kilpatrick et. al. Kym dont care what color you are shell put you behind bars. BTW Kym is black.”
Outstanding!! I was generalizing in my statement. In New Orleans, the state was simply forced to take over prosecutions - it got that bad. In Phili, a judge did come out and state that jail and slavery were no different.
It is nasty out there, but Kym is a major hero, given who she is and where she works.
If you ask me, the Lord spared the two young men’s lives. I hope they acknowledge that.
That’s right. Teach him that you don’t bring a stupid grin and a broken gun to batting practice. lol
Second, Don't offer goods and services such as small groceries stores. It will be seen as reflecting poorly on the natives, since they can't seem to start anything viable and profitable. Plus you are “taking money out of the community” that would otherwise be going to a local drug dealer or pimp.
STAY OUT OF DETROIT!
Was the gun loaded?
The report doesn’t mention it.
Rule of gun safety: ALL guns are loaded.
Broken firing pin from dry-firing? I know certain small semiautos (.25s are notorious) have that problem.
Don’t ask me how I know that, but it took several weeks before my mother found her firing pin was mysteriously broken when she tried target shooting hers, lo, these many decades ago.
Boy, was she P.O.ed, but safety in numbers: I have 3 older brothers. ;-)
Sounds like another one of Barack Obama’s loser sons.
Too lazy to work his own way through life at a real job and too incompetent to do his own thieving and mugging.
Just like daddy Barack.
That's what everyone thinks about their demon-state. Just wait a little while longer. Connecticut is undergoing the transformation now.
Will the Mercer Brothers please pick up the red courtesy phone ... Mercer Brothers ...
Detroit is trying to attract new residents, as nonprofit groups begin offering incentives to encourage more people to buy a home in Motor City.
Good Luck With That.
That’s what I’m thinking. Definitely a swing for the fence situation with the ball already Teed up.
