Boehner says he's 'hell-bent' on passing immigration legislation this year

House Speaker John Boehner and his Republican leadership team are telling donors and industry groups that they want to pass immigration legislation this year, despite the reluctance of other party members to tackle the divisive issue before the November elections.
Many lawmakers and activists have assumed the issue was off the table in an election year. But Boehner, R-Ohio, said at a recent Las Vegas fundraiser that he was "hell-bent on getting this done this year," two people in the room told The Wall Street Journal.
A Boehner spokesman didn't dispute the account but said no action is possible until President Obama proves himself a trustworthy partner to Republicans.
The news follows House Majority Leader Eric Cantor saying Wednesday after talking to Obama that the GOP-led chamber will not pass the immigration legislation passed this past summer by the Democrat-controlled Senate that includes a path to citizenship for millions of people living illegally in the United States. Critics of the plan say it is tantamount to amnesty.
In addition, Rep. Bob Goodlatte, R-Va., chairman of the House Judiciary Committee, said during a recent trip to Silicon Valley that action in 2014 was "entirely possible," likely in the form of votes this summer on five to seven immigration bills, Carl Guardino, chief executive of the Silicon Valley Leadership Group, who hosted his visit, told the newspaper.

Here’s my proposal. You can stay here and pay taxes. You cannot stay if you don’t have a job, and file a W2. If you stay, without going through legal channels like everyone else, you go to the absolute back of the line regarding citizenship. That means, that everyone else who applies legally before the date that you come clean about being illegal will be entitled to vote, legally, before you, and you cannot under any circumstances gain citizenship before any of those people who went through proper channels. If you vote illegally you not only lose any ability to stay here, but you also risk being prosecuted and going to jail. Every penny that you send to your home country will be taxed as an export. All unpaid medical expenses etc. will be sent to your home country for payment.
I don’t trust any of these jerks. They have Suckerberg, Gates, Chamber of Commerce lobbyist money coming out of their ears. Each one has enough lobbyist-paid campaign cash to be unconcerned about reelection, so they don’t care about their constituent citizens, just about keeping the gravy train coming.
The best Congress money can buy.
The people should be hell bent on cleaning out that snake den called Washington.

If Boner pulls a democrat style scam like that he won’t be “Hell-Bent”.
He will be “Hell-Bound”.
They will no longer fear the employer, they will unionize, and perhaps even align with gang thugs to steal the businesses away from the owners.
Then there will be demands for TARP to reimburse the former owners . . . .
