John 20:1-10 (KJV)
1The first day of the week cometh Mary Magdalene early, when it was yet dark, unto the sepulchre, and seeth the stone taken away from the sepulchre.
2Then she runneth, and cometh to Simon Peter, and to the other disciple, whom Jesus loved, and saith unto them, They have taken away the LORD out of the sepulchre, and we know not where they have laid him.
3Peter therefore went forth, and that other disciple, and came to the sepulchre.
4So they ran both together: and the other disciple did out run Peter, and came first to the sepulchre.
5And he stooping down, and looking in, saw the linen clothes lying; yet went he not in.
6Then cometh Simon Peter following him, and went into the sepulchre, and seeth the linen clothes lie,
7And the napkin, that was about his head, not lying with the linen clothes, but wrapped together in a place by itself.
8Then went in also that other disciple, which came first to the sepulchre, and he saw, and believed.
9For as yet they knew not the scripture, that he must rise again from the dead.
10Then the disciples went away again unto their own home.

Easter Every Day
April 20, 2014
Read: Hebrews 10:11-18
A friend of mine, who is a preschool teacher, overheard an animated conversation among her students. Little Maria threw out the question: Who loves God? All of them responded, I do! I do! I do! Billy said, I love Jesus. Kelly protested, But He died. Billy said, Yeah, but every Easter He rises from the dead!
Obviously, young Billys understanding of the meaning of Easter is still developing. We know that Jesus died once for all (Rom. 6:10; Heb. 10:12) and, of course, rose from the dead once. Three days after paying the penalty of our sins on the cross, the sinless Jesus conquered death by rising from the grave and breaking the power of sin. It was this final sacrifice of blood that opened the only way for us to have a relationship with God now and a home with Him forevermore.
Christ died for our sins, . . . He was buried, and . . . He rose again the third day (1 Cor. 15:3-4). He has promised that He is preparing a place for us (John 14:1-4), and He will someday return. One day we will be with our risen Savior.
Thats why every year at Eastertimein fact, every day of the yearwe have reason to celebrate the resurrection of our Savior. I will bless the Lord at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth (Ps. 34:1).
Christs resurrection is cause for our celebration.
Insight
In Hebrews 10:14 we see this remarkable statement: For by one offering He has perfected forever those who are being sanctified. How is this possible? Paul in his letter to the church at Corinth answers this question. Since being good enough through personal effort is futile (Rom. 7), only a transfer of account from a righteous person to a sinner could remedy the problem. He made [Christ] who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him (2 Cor. 5:21). Christs atoning death on the cross appeased the wrath of God (Rom. 3:24-26), and His righteousness was attributed to us that we might be declared justified before God.

To: All
Dear God: I ask that no Airman, Coast Guardsman, Marine, Sailor, Soldier, Reservist, National Guardsman, or Merchant Marine feel alone or forgotten.
O Israel, hope in the Lord; For with the Lord there is loving kindness, And with Him is abundant redemption. And He will redeem Israel From all his iniquities.
Psalm 130:7 & 8

I love going to church on Easter (and every other day, for that matter). I love telling people “He is risen!”...and then getting the ‘counter-sign’...”He is risen, indeed!”
Unfortunately, I have been laid low with a nasty cold and won’t be able to go this year. First one I’ll have missed since becoming a believer in 1987.
Even so, the fact remains: He is RISEN!

BLESSED EASTER TO ALL
It is the whisper of the first breath; It is the rustle of graveclothes Being laid aside, folded and Squared on a cold ledge.
It is the sound of fingertips Brushing along a hewn wall In predawn darkness.
It is the rasp of a stone wheel Grating in its track.
What unearthly stillness Greets this once-corpse as He surveys the earth That had been his torture-chamber.
I hear these sounds Across two thousand years, and My lips strain to speak to Him.
I want to tear away My garments of death.
I grope through my darkness, My shoulder failing against the weight--
This sound I hear, This sound I hear Is the sound of my Jesus Rising again in My heart.
