After the federal Bureau of Land Management agents backed down from their intimidating stance at the Bundy Ranch last weekend, ample evidence has surfaced indicating the standoff between the government and the Nevada ranching family is far from over. Throughout the weeklong stalemate, members of the Bundy family were physically assaulted by armed officers, numerous cows were shot dead, and protesters faced threats of gunfire for merely expressing their outrage.
Immediately after what many considered a victory against a tyrannical federal agency, a number of leftist voices most notably, Sen. Harry Reid indicated the action against this family will continue.

1760 yards is a tiny bit further. Long distance shooting is 90% technique and 10% equipment. If you know what to look for before you shoot, the odds of hitting the target with your first shot are way better than if you guess at it. Don’t get in a hurry, take your time and use your list before your even look at the target.

You're welcome😊. For the future, if in your number 1, you simply said "the Congressman's name was Pete Stockman, R-TX", it would have been a lot more clear.

At the end of the day, will the voters in Nevada have the courage to start the process of recalling Reid, and those responsible for the continued erosion of our Constitutional rights???
Or will the people of Nevada slink off like a bunch of cowards and just sweep this under the rug, and hope it all just goes away???
I say the same for any state in this Republic, including mine, will you do YOUR due diligence, or will you obfuscate, ignore, hold your nose at the polls, or just break out the broom, hand it to someone else, and have them sweep this under the rug???
Its either that, or we break out the guns and ammo and take it to them...
At which point we all lose...
I do not believe this country, its citizens, are worth the words on those founding documents at this time...
Prove me wrong...I would love to see some people learn a new word...
Its called unemployment...(i.e. your government elected officials)
But again, I do not believe there is much courage left in the ranks of our citizenry...

I looked at Utah law and found .
http://le.utah.gov/~code/TITLE53/htm/53_13_010605.htm
(9) County sheriffs shall regularly review the duties and activities of federal agencies that have law enforcement responsibilities and that are acting within the jurisdictional area of the county to determine if the federal agencies are acting consistently with this section.
Last para.
I would hope Nevada has similar wording have not found it.
I think that Stockman is right.

Yes they do. They vote for their pensions. I have many friends that are firemen, cops, teachers, etc... and they are all for the repubs when you talk. But I have a sneaking hunch that when they get in that voting booth, they will pull that lever for their pension and benefits.

Federal Land Policy and Management Act of 1976
43 USC 1733
(c)
(1) When the Secretary determines that assistance is necessary in enforcing Federal laws and regulations relating to the public lands or their resources he shall offer a contract to appropriate local officials having law enforcement authority within their respective jurisdictions with the view of achieving maximum feasible reliance upon local law enforcement officials in enforcing such laws and regulations. The Secretary shall negotiate on reasonable terms with such officials who have authority to enter into such contracts to enforce such Federal laws and regulations. In the performance of their duties under such contracts such officials and their agents are authorized to carry firearms; execute and serve any warrant or other process issued by a court or officer of competent jurisdiction; make arrests without warrant or process for a misdemeanor he has reasonable grounds to believe is being committed in his presence or view, or for a felony if he has reasonable grounds to believe that the person to be arrested has committed or is committing such felony; search without warrant or process any person, place, or conveyance according to any Federal law or rule of law; and seize without warrant or process any evidentiary item as provided by Federal law. The Secretary shall provide such law enforcement training as he deems necessary in order to carry out the contracted for responsibilities. While exercising the powers and authorities provided by such contract pursuant to this section, such law enforcement officials and their agents shall have all the immunities of Federal law enforcement officials.
....NOTE: This section enables the BLM to contract with State and local agencies to provide enforcement of Federal laws and regulations, but only when the BLM determines that assistance in this area is necessary. Under such contracts, the State and local agency would receive reimbursements for the services rendered. However, any State or local officers performing under the contract must meet the law enforcement training requirements of the Department of the Interior. The Department of the Interior requires basic training at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center. State and local agencies may receive reimbursements for services rendered in enforcing their own State and local laws under a law enforcement agreement pursuant to the authority of 43 USC 1733(d) below. The above section also describes the law enforcement responsibilities and authorities of the BLM law enforcement officers that have been authorized pursuant to 43 USC 1733(c)(2) below.....
(2) The Secretary may authorize Federal personnel or appropriate local officials to carry out his law enforcement responsibilities with respect to the public lands and their resources. Such designated personnel shall receive the training and have the responsibilities and authority provided for in paragraph (1) of this subsection.

That’s all way too complicated. Know your rifle and keep it clean. Know your ammo and don’t screw with it. Understand “Kentucky windage” and use it and you will hit that bucket or at least scare the hell out of it every shot. All that bookwork is a substitute for not growing up with a rifle in your hand-—carry on-—Semper Fi.

If you can make a
1,200 yard shot like this one and get within 10 feet of the target on your 1st shot, I'll buy you dinner.
Rex knows his stuff and all that bookwork is what makes him an expert in the field of Long Range Shooting. If you lean back and watch the videos, you will gather up a lot of information that will make you a much better shot than you are today.

A quick background as to why the BLM should not be harassing Cliven Bundy. This issue goes all the way back to the Confederation Papers, prior to the writing of our US Constitution.
Please remember that the Supreme Court has reversed more than 150 of earlier Supreme Court decisions on natural law. Is that what you would consider as someone being consistent and reliable in interpreting the Constitution?
The Resolution of 1780, "the federal trust respecting public lands obligated the united States to extinguish both their governmental jurisdiction and their title to land that achieved statehood."
In the Constitutional Convention of 1787, The Charter of Liberty contained these words, "The new Federal Government is an agent serving the states.", "The delegated powers are few and defined", "All powers not listed are retained by the states or the people", "The Resolution of 1780 formed the basis upon which Congress was required to dispose of territorial and public lands", "All laws shall be made by the Congress of the United States". (not agency bureaucrats!)
That should be sufficient for you to determine who all public lands belong to, hint - NOT the Federal Government!
"The Constitution is a written instrument. As such, it's meaning does not alter. That which it meant when adopted. it means now". So said the Supreme Court in South Carolina v United States in 1905
Articles of Confederation, Article VI, clause 1 All engagements entered into before the adoption of this Constitution, shall be as valid against the United States under this Constitution, as under the Confederation. In Article IX "... no State shall be deprived of territory for the benefit of the United States."
Formation of a "more perfect union" does not absolve that union of prior engagements, including those obligations establish by the resolution of 1780 and the Articles of Confederation.
Our government system is established by compact, not between the Government and the State Governments but between the States as Sovereign Communities. By James Madison 1821 (This is what make the County Sheriffs the highest law enforcement officer in that County and gives him/her the authority to tell the BLM, the FBI or any other Federal Agency to get out of the County or they will be arrested and jailed.)
What I have written here is but a short piece of the process that the Founder went through to establish our Constitution and system of government.
Please view these videos and see if they don't change your mind about whether or not Cliven Bundy is in the wrong by defying the BLM.

Here's one that shows why the Sheriff of Clark County is duty bound to keep the BLM and all Federal agents from arresting Cliven Bundy.

It is my understanding that 90.000 square acre are being stolen by the BLM on the Red river in Texas. Is this not correct?

The law you cited and quoted from 1976 dates back to the first flush of legislation by the Democrat-dominated, "we-don't-need-anybody-to-run-this-place", post-fall-of-Saigon Red Democratic Party, the party that dismissed all the old liberals (except the ones they needed) and promptly nominated Jimmy Carter (having previously nominated ex-Stalinist tool and Wallaceite Sen. George McGovern) as Potted Plant of the United States.
Ever wonder about the "lack of comity", partisan acrimony, and so on that the Left columnists constantly bewail? The people that passed the law you quote, were the people who started it -- reducing GOP representation on committees of the Congress, for instance. Disadvantaging them w/r/t notice of committee meetings and depriving them of the old common courtesies, for instance.
Core-bonded and 100% owned incivility, courtesy of the cocksure, morally smug Democratic Party.
