Buy it at Sam’s Club, grill it yourself.

A think from cattle. But cattle are predators on turtle populations so they are facing extinction.

The closest I’ve gotten in the last two years is hamburger at Costco for $3.18/pound. But I have to buy so much I could practically assemble my own cow. (Mold required.) Also, although it looks nice, I wonder just how much of it is composed of named pieces of cow I’d actually recognize. It just doesn’t taste like I remember.

As a beef fanatic, I’m appalled at the rising prices. Beef is amazingly healthful - one of the reasons it is being phased out of the American diet. Can’t have strong men and women who might have the strength to fight the feds.

P.S.: another healthful and delicious food - fish - is also getting too expensive for us peons.

Good, this gives the small beef growers a chance to cash in.

I suppose I’ll have to learn to love again...Spam with Steak Sauce, back to the late sixties and seventies.

I hear you there. I would feel guilty for buying one of them.

Edd Hendee is a rock-ribbed Conservative, and runs one of the best steak joints in Texas.

The only time we have beef is when Safeway has it in the ‘managers special’ section. Basically it’s the beef that MUST BE SOLD that day, and it usually has a sticker for 50% off the lowest price. Just bought some stew meat today. What normally would have cost about $12 for just under 2.5 lbs I got for ~$7. Either use it by tomorrow, or get it in the freezer.

I hate to rain on everyone’s parade but the Price has NOT gone up a Penny. The VALUE of your MONEY is and has been STOLEN from you on a Continual Basis via the Federal Reserve by means of THEFT by DILUTION (counterfeiting, debasing),ie. Inflation

As more people switch to cheaper substitutes, expect the prices of pork and chicken to rise also. So much for this year’s grilling season....

I’m glad we have a rancher in the family. Half a beef Home grown, drug free, cut and wrapped for around $1.00 a pound. Haven’t bought a steak in years.

Remember, food and fuel are not counted in the inflation rate.

WTF?

Not like I buy an appliance every week.

No kiddin’, man.

Had steak the other night, thin cut but a medium size steak. It had been about three months since I had one. Prior to that I really can not recall the last time I had one.

and no...I am not a vegetarian. Just trying to survive this wonderful economic recovery.
