The United States and Canada are far more integrated than most people think. In fact, a merger between the two countries isn't just desirable—it's inevitable.

We share more than just the world's longest border. We share the same values, lifestyles and aspirations. Our societies and economies are becoming similar in significant ways.

while retaining monarchal oversight.

Not really. Once in a while the Queen sends a relative over for tea, sometimes she comes over herself. Always brings goofy ol’ Phil along. He makes her grimace a lot. But we’re polite and like to pretend she’s smiling , it’s easier that way.

Yep, the one world folks are getting all excited again.

A union with Canada makes zero sense for the people of either country. They wouldn’t want our Congress and we wouldn’t want Quebec. If anything the trend is toward smaller countries. More spinoffs and less mergers.

The New World Order plan calls it North American Union. There is the European Union, South African Union, both already done, except Morocco wouldn’t cooperate the last time I looked, maybe now....and so on and so on...

Why would Canadians want to inherit our ‘Gibsmedat’ crowd?

The majority of Canadian voters are leftists and such a move would end any chance of GOP election victory.

If Alberta (most conservative province, rich in oil sands) would like to secede from Canada I’d take them, that’s about it.

Even Alberta would be more Democrat than most US states

A couple gets $500,000.00 untaxed if they’ve lived in the principle residence for 2 of he past 5 years.

It’s half of that for a single person.

I doubt that. I think it would have a slight GOP lean but be winnable for rats. I’d compare it to Montana.

I’ll concur.

Canada would be crazy to accept the deal.

Ditto that.

40 MILLION is a more accurate estimate as offered by the Border Patrol. I suspect it’s even more.

“12 Million” has been used for the last 20 years...

“Yeah, that’s what I thought. Hurray for the North American Union”

And hurrah for our new insect overlords....HAIL ANTS!

(just seemed funny and sarcastic to say)

The replies to this thread amuse me.

It's going to happen. The U.S. and Canada will merge together and there is absolutely nothing we can do to stop it. Might even happen in our lifetimes. Our cultures are just too similar for it not to happen.

FWIW, the original Samuel Adams believed that English-speaking British Colonists in America would want to separate from the Mother country — no matter the depths of their cultural ties. Seems he was right.
