President Barack Obama reminisced about the conspiracy theories surrounding his birth certificate during a speech at the National Action Network convention in New York City Friday afternoon. Obama referenced the doubts about his citizenship that led him to release a copy of his birth certificate in 2011, while criticizing voter I.D. laws that require people to present documentation like passports and birth certificates to vote.
"Just to be clear, I know where my birth certificate is," he added.
Obama then began to laugh.
"You remember that? That was crazy," said Obama. "Haven't thought about that in a while."

How can you not know that? Why are you dissing birthers if you’re not even aware that Obama and his literary agents were the first so-called birthers? Are you really that uninformed? If so, you need to apologize. You’re in no position to demean people so much more knowledgeable than yourself.
A year before the bio blurb came out there were articles about Obama being elected President of Volume of the Harvard Law Review in the New York Times, Washington Post, LA Times and Chicago Tribune. Those articles all said that he was born in Hawaii.

Literary Agent Responds to ‘Born in Kenya’ Obama Bio: ‘Nothing More Than a Fact Checking Error’
The text editor of the 1991 literary agency booklet that described Barack Obama as “born in Kenya” said Thursday the line in question was “nothing more than a fact checking error.”
Miriam Goderich issued a statement to the Political Wire saying the future president never suggested “in any way that he was born in Kenya and not Hawaii”:
“You’re undoubtedly aware of the brouhaha stirred up by Breitbart about the erroneous statement in a client list Acton & Dystel published in 1991 (for circulation within the publishing industry only) that Barack Obama was born in Kenya. This was nothing more than a fact checking error by me — an agency assistant at the time. There was never any information given to us by Obama in any of his correspondence or other communications suggesting in any way that he was born in Kenya and not Hawaii. I hope you can communicate to your readers that this was a simple mistake and nothing more.”
That is the Obot defense, stated to perfection. It’s singularly stupid, though, because the blurb comes from the author. The author also approves it. Most Obots have reluctantly conceded these basic facts by now. There are a few diehard holdouts, however.
Where, btw, did the agents allegedly get the “fact” they forgot to check? Not where generally; where specifically.

To me, it makes no sense to get nationwide publicity in the major newspapers in 1990 all saying Hawaii is the place of birth and then a year later to have a minor bio in a publishing industry only blurb list a different place of birth.
In any event, two years ago The literary agent said that it was her error and its difficult if not impossible to prove otherwise 23 years after it was published.
In my humble opinion there’s just too much corroboration for Hawaii: the original vault edition birth certificate verified by Republican Governor Linda Lingle, the 1961 index of all Hawaii births, the newspaper birth announcements, the father’s interview with the Immigration and Naturalization Service, the Obama-Dunham divorce decree, and the Indonesian primary school application filled out by step-father Lolo Soetoro.

The guy can't string three words together without a teleprompter, so it's telling that he blurted this out. HIs handlers must have been scrambling.
Clearly it's front and center on his mind; no doubt we'll hear soon enough.
