Protestors at the Bundy Ranch in Bunkerville, Nevada take on the Feds and stand their ground.

” Senator Reid hopes the trespassing cattle are rounded up safely so the issue can be resolved.”
According to the local paper, the Bundy family owns 160 acres, but has let their cattle graze on federal land going back generations. The feds started charging them a “grazing fee” in the early ‘90’s and the central dispute is over whether the feds are owed $1MM (claimed by the feds) or $300k as claimed by the Bundy family. This has been a 20 year long dispute that is coming to head with the feds declaring that the cattle on federal land are “trespass cattle” and killing them.
The reaction to this is what is on the videos, but essentially this is a money dispute. Not easy for me to see the heroes in this situation. Still, this causis belli is as good as any other, I suppose.
People are getting PO’d. With every SWAT team assault on guy that owes back taxes, cop capping a dog, cell-phone forcibly ripped from a hand and thrown into the street, and regulator ruining a career while thieves laugh all the way to the bank, people are starting to wake up to their status as proles. Funny thing is, people are not liking the realization that they just do not matter to the machine and the 3 million people that the machine props up and DO matter.
Hopefully there will be a “ring around the ring” that responds in such a situation.
It is fitting that a backlash against Government bullying begins in Reid’s state.
dang I hate those loud mouthed SOB’s yelling “GET BACK!”
We have more than our share of those on this forum.
That’s exactly what I was thinking.
The Government is the evil 1%. The Bundy family is merely taking from the evil 1% and using it for the public good. Hungry people are able to eat because of the Bundy family, the evil Government 1% wants people to starve.
The New York governor had ordered his militia to arrest Warner.
Warner, and the rest of the Vermonters had bought their land from the New Hampshire governor.
Both entities (later, states) claimed ownership of Vermont.
The colonel in charge marched his troops up to Warner's house.
As he raised his sword to "knock" on the door with the hilt, he heard the sound of hundreds of muskets being cocked from behind trees and stone walls surrounding him.
He ordered his troops to "about face", and marched back to New York.
I’m not a big AJ fan, but he is all over this right now. He’s pretty good on issues like this.....but total kook on a lot of other stuff.
Remembering the Battle of Athens, TN, too. ;-)
They are essentially out in the middle of nowhere, except the road is paved.
Pretty much agree with your assessments. It goes to underscore just how hated the paramilitary LEOS have become though. People are beginning to rally even on a shaky case. It is because they -want- to.
I heard in one report that the Federales are tearing up the roads in some places.
The treeline. Always a big concern since colonial times.

Sounds criminal to me. I wonder how well a lot of fedcoat actions since 1989 would stand up in a Nuremburg trial sort of inquiry.
Many cousins of Vermonters, also escaping the religious nuts in Connecticut who had perpetrated the "great awakening" on all the citizens CT had moved to the Wyoming valley of Pennsylvania.
They bought their land from the Indians, as it was cheaper than buying it from the PA authorities, who had obtained the land from the Indians with the "Crooked Walk".
After the Revolutionary War, the authorities in Philadelphia turned their interest upon these settlers, threatening them with armed eviction if they didn't pay up.
The settlers wrote a letter to Ethan Allen in Vermont requesting his armed assistance with a contingency of Vermonters.
The Philadelphia authorities backed down in fear, knowing the reputation and effectiveness of Vermonters in battle.
That was many years before Vermont was taken over by trust fund hippies from New York who did what their ancestors couldn't accomplish.
The Feds want to kill off the open range and eliminate the grazing rights of the locals across the whole nation.
This is just one battle in their long term strategery to get to their goal.
Lest we forget Waco.
The government moved against the Brach Davidians in the spring of 1993. And massacred 76 of them on April 19, 1993.
Will we see a repeat on April 19, 2014? Or will it be sooner??
Der Halbeschwarzefuhrer needs a “Reichstag fire”, IMHO..
