...Hank Aaron compared Republicans that oppose President Barack Obama to the Ku Klux Klan....
Sure, this country has a black president, but when you look at a black president, President Obama is left with his foot stuck in the mud from all of the Republicans with the way hes treated, Aaron told USA Today Sports.
Aaron continued: The bigger difference is that back then they had hoods. Now they have neckties and starched shirts.

My heart breaks also. I always respected this man and knew he went through real racism while gaining his achievement.
But, I just can’t respect him anymore.
It’s like the scene in Good Fellas. I’m gonna have to turn my back on you now, Hank.
Tony Bennett comes to mind.
They would do better to just keep their mouths shut and let people think the best of them.
True, Aaron had a hitter friendly park. But Babe Ruth hit the majority of his career home runs -- 367 to 347 -- on the road, with his time in Boston at the beginning and end of his career figured in.
Ruth also played for a time in the Polo Grounds, as did Mays for the first six seasons of his career, which had exceptionally short distances down the lines and the cavernous center field.
Don’t forget the Babe had at least 5 full years as a pretty good pitcher at 94-46. That could have easily been another 100 home runs, and he’d still be holding the record.
Rice voted for B-HO?? I didn’t know that. I knew that Powell did... But Rice? I’m so disappointed.
The one saving grace of the Bamster administration has been the mask falling from so many. The last five years have been a stark lesson in the extreme racial hatred boiling within the American black community despite a few decades of relative calm.
I watched that home run also. He is probably senile.
Babe was an all around baseball player. Loved the game, loved the kids who came to see him, and was larger than life to a lot of folks.
I liked Aaron up until this stupid racist remark from him. To me, now - any accomplishment he may have done is superseded by this appallingly stupid comment. If he felt that way all along, and managed to keep it to himself, this would ALSO have been a good time to exercise a lock on his tongue.
87 comments to the time of my posting and only one alludes to RATs who founded the KKK and who terrorized blacks until GOP got 1964 Civil Rights Act passed.
Too bad the repubs buying tickets to watch him play didn’t know how he felt back then.
He’s been added to the growing list of black celebrities I no longer admire or will pay money to see.
Babe Ruth also spent the first 25% of his career as a pitcher and didn't play everyday. And he wasn't an ordinary pitcher either. He would have made the Hall of Fame if he'd remained a pitcher.
If they asterisked Aaron like they did Roger Maris, he would have had his home run total reduced by at least 20%. Still Hall of Fame numbers to be sure, but no record.
There was a time when Sports were free of Politics, but the Democrats have tainted every part of the culture with their lies.
Aaron had 35% more at bats to tie up with Babes 714
Enough said
There's even a book called: The Year Babe Ruth hit 100 Home runs.
What would have been an easy HR blast going 450 ft, became a fieldable ball.
Every old timer, from MLB, to the Negro leagues said that they've never seen ANYONE hit a ball has hard as the Babe.
And these are guys who lived to see Aaron and Mantle play.
Back to the OP, I knew Aaron hated whites, but I didn't know he exclusively blamed republicans.
Who the hell did he think was in the stands in Atlanta during his career?
I wager it was 85% democrats. Black or white.
And it wasn't "republicans" writing those nasty letters to him, either.
Jackie Robinson, who took WAY more $hit than Aaron could ever dream of was a life-long republican.

Guys a moron who can hit a ball.
I used to look up to Hank Aaron. When I was younger, I had a bat with his name on it as well as other artifacts that I was proud of.
Reading this, I no longer look up to him. I realize that he is tainted by racism. I recognize that people of some intelligence are distinct from regular goofballs. I don’t have time anymore for the others.
Aaron was a good ball player. He’s evidently also a racist moron, so I’m done with the guy.
He had his moment in the sun. He should have let that sun set and been content with reaching a goal that few others have reached.
But... it is what it is, right...
