A suggestion to you when your knees or any other part of the body gives you pain, much pain in some cases. I have a knee that needs replacement due to arthritis, but because I can't take any pain meds with aspirin in it, I'm not a candidate for the post-op physical therapy sessions that require pain meds.
So, I've invested in a good supply of pain patches called Salanpas. They come in a large size that you can wrap around your knee, as well as above and below the knee, to keep your knee in position and relatively pain free. Along with the Ibuprofen, you should see some very good results.
I also use the patches on painful toes, hands, arms, and back, and they work. I also have a left knee that's on its’ way to more degeneration, and the patch is a God send.

Aother suggestion I have is something I learned from my knee orthopedic MD...when you're taking a step down, use your leg that has the worst pain of your two legs...the saying to remember for this one is “the bad (leg) goes to hell...your really bad knee/leg is the first one on the step going down. Now the reverse of this is that when you are climbing a step, one at a time, use your better leg, the one with the least pain to climb that step. The saying to remember for this one is, “the good (leg) goes to heaven.” And if you have bad knees, you'd better reconsider kneeling down, because it can only get worse...I miss gardening and anything where I must kneel, those days are long gone, but at least I can walk about. I also get steroid shots, one in each knee, every three months and that works very well, along with a cane when it's called for. Hope that will help you in some way.

Good morning to you, too! (((Hugs)))
I love to cook and bake! Last evening, I made an apple slump (hadn't the foggiest notion what that was) but used pears that our friend canned last year. It turned out to be sort of a spicy pear base with a sweet, light and tender biscuit/ladyfinger sort of topping. Topped with slightly sweetened whipped cream. Also tried a vinegar-based coleslaw that we liked. Had chicken nuggets from the supermarket that Mr. Sg fried for lunch. I fatigue easily, so I usually make only one or two things a day when I cook. I'm the cleanup crew and Mr. Sg does most of the cooking.
Do you like to cook?
