Obama will hate it.
I liked it too. I hope it continues to be about American patriotism and fighting against a corrupt government.
The opening scene was a little over bloody but it was spectacular from there.
My favorite was the ambush scene near the end which was cut back and forth from the forced pledge of Abe Woodhull.

Large parts of Washington’s known spy ring are still effectively classified, because parts of it are suggested to have been deep within the English aristocracy, even in the royal family. Still embarrassing, even today.
Washington was also known to have made extensive use of female spies, and only one of his spies was ever captured, Nathan Hale, who in retrospect appears to be far below the caliber of spies that Washington recruited.
This shows Washington’s amazing talent. While he confessed to not being particularly brilliant, he had an impressive ability to select the best and the brightest as his operatives. In his case, this almost created a ‘Washington axiom’ of leadership: that surrounding yourself with talent is far better than being talented yourself.
Watched it. Enjoyed it.
Full episode may be on the AMC website.
According to zap2it.com, it got about 3 million viewership.
This certainly would make the Obama administration worried if people watch it. Hollywood and the media downplay the Revolutionary War because it demonstrates that today’s social welfare state is much more oppressive than the British ever were.
Here is a website,The Writings of George Washington from the Original Manuscript Sources 1745-1799 that I like, may be a nice addition to watching the show,Washington actually used invisible ink in his some of his messages during the Revolution.
AMC has another winner. I loved this show. It’s about time the truth about America is being told again. It’s too bad the young skulls won’t be able to understand what it’s all about. Most of them have been taught or think that the Revolutionary War where we won our independence was fought in Vietnam. No jungle or CCR songs can be confusing to them.
Good to know. We have it on the DVR but we haven’t watched it yet.
Why does every AMC program look dark, grainy, and blurry?
It’s LIGHTS, CAMERA, ACTION. AMC can’t afford the LIGHTS?
One of the great lines in the ‘First Act’ was
‘There is only one. That isn’t so bad’.(close..no quote)..
He was referring to the ‘Red Coat’ that was quartered in his home.
Of course that is when he was trying to be ‘neutral’....
All you cheapskates should get Direct TV.
This series is very well done.
We don’t think much of what it was actually like to take on the British Empire in your own backyard.
What the Founders and their fellow patriots risked is always a source of amazement to me.
The whole enterprise had to be God-inspired and God-directed.
Without the leaders of that day in America, the effort would have surely foundered in a thousand different ways.
What really makes me think, is whether a repeat of this time is our future also.
The tyranny of the Federal government is fast approaching that of the British Empire.

Awesome show.
