TV journalist Lisa Bloom has just written a book about the Trayvon Martin case. Curious to find out more, I watched her interview with Cenk Uygur of “The Young Turks.” She started out by explaining that she wrote the book to demonstrate Zimmerman’s guilt, and show that the jury got it wrong. Instead of presenting new evidence, or a more compelling interpretation, she ignored exculpatory evidence, mangled the facts, made bogus inferences, and omitted much..

At a Labor Day barbecue last year, a few beers loosened his lips, and he said, “I know you’re a conservative, but even you have to agree that Zimmerman got away with murder!”

Of course, he was shocked when I disagreed, and when I mentioned the testimony of the forensic expert and the credible (male) witness who had seen and heard Martin banging Zimmerman’s head against the pavement, he said that he hadn’t followed the case that closely. He said, and I quote: “All I know is that Zimmerman had a gun and Trayvon is dead.” That pretty much sums up the left-wing’s argument completely.

I gave up on a friend I have known since childhood (over 50 years) because of an argument over the Trayvon case. He’s a liberal but he had always respected my conservative opinions and we were able to maintain the friendship by not discussing politics.

A similar thing happened to me. I had a life long friend, with whom I had lost touch for several years and started to communicate with her and her husband via email. This was about 2005. We visted each others homes a few times and had become good friends again (we lived 200 miles apart).

Then the election of 2008 was coming up, she started trying to shill for obama to me, knowing that I was a conservative. I finally had to tell her that I no longer wanted to communicate with her and we haven't since.

I respected the fact that she was a liberal, she had no compunctions about trying to "convert me". Liberals simply cannot shut up in their ignorance.

Even my conservative sister in law who gets her news from NBCCBSABC and her liberal children, thought that Trayvon had been murdered for no reason. She claims to have seen photos of the back of Zimmermans head and there was no bloody wound there.

I saw pictures of the blood on the back his head and nose, but then I watch Fox.

Even Fox habitually refers to Trayvon as an "unarmed teen," ignoring the fact that he was trying to grab Zimmerman's gun to shoot him with it. If Zimmerman had not shot when he did, within a few seconds he would have been dead. And the rest of the country outside the immediate area would have never heard of either Trayvon Martin or George Zimmerman.
