uh huh. This is basically going to be their excuse for EVERY national security disaster from this day forward.

Every one.

Nothing is ever THEIR fault.

Economy? Bush’s fault.
Failure to contain Russia? Bush’s fault.
Terror attacks? Bush’s fault. Oh, and Snowden too.

Loss of 4th Amendment freedoms? Snowden’s fault. Bush approved it too.

Buildup of Russian allies in this hemisphere? Bush. Snowden.

Obamacare rollout? Web designer’s fault. Bush, too.

Nothing, nothing, nothing, nothing is ever Obama’s fault.

Exactly.

I have always considered Gertz as a good source of information, but NSA is a joke, although a very very bad joke.

They did not foresee the Boston bombing.

They have no information that helps solve the flight 370 question, they had no idea Putin was going to make a move on Crimea.........on and on.

Flapper did not even know of the bus bombing in England until he was told about it during a congressional hearing on TV.

A very embarrassing spectacle on TV.

It means that the president may not have the intelligence he needs to have for crucial decisions.

You cannot blame Snowden for obama's LACK OF INTELLIGENCE!

So, let’s get this straight; the all mighty, massive, intrusive, super secret, trillion dollar, spy agency was taken down by someone that supposedly worked there for only mere days and was a low level employee?

Come again?

I see the actual damage as being truth telling or as Fiendstenn (d-CA) says ... don’t check me ... that’s treason.

Snowden’s treachery is especially grave because he exposed how all the parts fit together—the blueprints for how America’s most significant intelligence enterprise actually works—which is also the blueprint for how to defeat it,” she said.

I don't know what Snowden's intent was, but in this day and age, there's a twisted solace in knowing that someone exposed a blueprint for defeating "America’s most significant intelligence enterprise".

I am offended that I should even think this way.

One has to ask why telling the truth is treason? We protect our criminal class (aka congress and elected officials) from scrutiny? Then we have forgotten what our Founders warned each of us of.

(from the article):" Snowden’s treachery is especially grave because he exposed how all the parts fit together—the blueprints
for how America’s most significant intelligence enterprise actually works—which is also the blueprint for how to defeat it,” she said.

So , without Snowden , we the CITIZENS of the United States would not have known the extent of our own government spying on us..
and that is bad ? How ?
Our own government is spying on us .. ? WHY ..?
What the government is upset about is that we now know that our government is spying on us ,
while what they are really uspset at is the fact that we now know, and Snowden has told us , and our international friends now know .
Foreign Intelligence spying has prevented how many bombings ?.. Zero !
Our Foreign Intelligence is reactionary ( after the fact) and has not prevented any act of terrorism before it was to occur .
It was overreach which made our friends not trust us , and our enemies not fear us .
Snowden is neither Saint ,.. nor Sinner ; he is an American who just wanted us to know how much data our own government was collecting on us
without warrant , or even probable cause !
And therefore , .. it is ILLEGAL !!

He never makes crucial decisions. The repeated evidence is that when a decsion is required, he always dithers

Let's talk first about the panty bomber and the Boston Bombers. We were warned DIRECTLY about these folks...and more than once.

Then there's Hasan at Ft. Hood. Then there's that other creep in DC.

All of these folks should have been looked into. We were negligent in all cases and people died.

Then there's Benghazi.

Then there's all these countries that we got involved with...WHY??

“White House Cyber Chief Says Snowden Damage Will Be Felt for Decades.”

My gosh, I hope so!

If it’s not felt, I hope the reason is that those who might have felt it have all passed on.

I don’t believe a thing this regime says.

Boston was bombed and the travels of the terrorist brothers didn’t alert the NSA something was going down.

You’d have to be an idiot to not think NSA was acquiring and keeping all information about and the content of electronic communications. You don’t build a million square foot building housing one large server/memory farm to save a couple of phone numbers and length of call or to/from email per electronic communication. Additionally, the collection is focused upon internal communications for domestic political and economic activities not foreign communications....the NSA and CIA have not given a single example of a terrorist attack prevented by their programs although multiple failures, in spite of their spying, are obvious and prevalent.
