On Friday, Russian President Vladimir Putin and U.S. President Barack Obama spoke on the phone. Given recent tensions over Ukraine and Crimea, dialogue seems like a good thing. However, were the two presidents really talking to each other? After reading the two official statements about the call, it sounds like they got some wires crossed or something.

Putin’s “curing” Zero’s weak liberalism with Strong Communism...
He is also a liar, when he claims that Crimea independence and its reintegration in the Russian Federation "are breaking the international law". There is no legal reason whatsoever to put sanctions on Russia.
The International Court of Justice, supreme arbiter in matters of international law, in 2010 ruled that the declaration of independence of Kosovo had been legal and also, more generally, that throughout history, declarations of independence are never in conflict with international law. The judges said that the 20th century declarations of independence have been regarded as compatible and indeed supported by international law in the name of the principal of self-determination. So Crimea's declaration of independence is perfectly valid, as valid as it was the United States declaration of independence from England.
The Kremlin said in a statement that the Russian president drew Mr Obamas attention to the continued rampage of extremists in Kiev and various regions of Ukraine.
It said these individuals were committing acts of intimidation towards peaceful residents, government authorities and law enforcement agencies... with impunity.
Mr Putin suggested examining possible steps the global community could take to help stabilise the situation, the Kremlin statement said.
He also expressed concern at an effective blockade of Moldovas separatist region of Trans-Dniester, where Russia has troops.
This is Putin projecting.
He is probably going to go into the Ukraine for the "good of the people there," and solve the problems of the so-called extremists, and he is probably going to go to Moldova to break the blockade.
That's what his forces are mobilizing on the borders for.
The Obama admin doesn't see it, and neither do the press lackeys that lick his heals.
There are five year olds more capable of foreign policy than Obama is.
Americanski is more of an adjective to describe something. Americanitz would be the person who is an american.
"I like my Black Sea peninsula, and I will keep it. Seriously..."
I recall that there were discrepancies in stories when Kerry “negotiated” with Iran. Kerry detailed sanctions and a commitment to abandon the nuke development program, and Iran said, what sanctions? The US lifted sanctions, gave us money, and we continue our program!
“I like my Black Sea peninsula, and I will keep it. Seriously...”
Crimeans like it too that way

Bottom line...a bird in hand...Crimea went with Russia willingly. ..and I don’t buy for a minute, as some have attempted to say, it was at the end of a gun. International observers and many others attest to the fair reporting of the results....and even id you remove a percentage they still went with Russia.
I think Obama and the Eu are just plenty peeved they could do nothing to stop Crimea from what it ultimately chose to do.
All this legality will be worked behind the scenes for years perhaps....but clearly the Us/EU and Russia were all willing to break International Law from the beginning of this entire affair....They just choose to interpret it as they will and are doing now.
Putin should be offering Bammy a free month’s stay on the Black Sea Beaches of Crimea.
I think you are correct. The one guy golf clapping at that European recent speech probably snapped something.
Hate to say it, but I’d more likely believe Putin than the liar-in-chief of our poor beleagered country.

It's not hard to understand why Russian people are proud now..and Putin's ratings so high. Putin accomplished this in one of the most astounding and brilliant strategies executed ..... even our Military has said as much. It's very interesting reading and hearing some of their comments. They don't like Putin but they do respect the maneuvers Putin executed to accomplish his goal. Thank you for sharing this Marguerite.....they are right to celebrate....and I can say I saw this Historic moment.
Did you see the videos of the Crimea residents who went to Moscow for the signing. The ones taken by their own camera man to record it as they wanted?...I wanted to see the signing and the people...and Parliament members.....interesting to see them chatting beforehand. I saw more of the Kremlin in their videos than I've seen on line! What a work of art it is....and sooo Russian Style. Beautiful workmanship.
Zero and his administration practice taqqiya, that’s all.
They don’t need to practice it. They’ve mastered it.
I never thought the day would come when I could trust what the Russian leader said more than my own President.
Stalin had no problem slaughtering between 2 and 4 million. And that was before WWII even started. I don’t see anything holding Putin back.
