As part of its plan to reduce U.S. greenhouse gas emissions, the Obama administration is targeting the dairy industry to reduce methane emissions in their operations.
This comes despite falling methane emission levels across the economy since 1990.
The White House has proposed cutting methane emissions from the dairy industry by 25 percent by 2020. Although U.S. agriculture only accounts for about 9 percent of the countrys greenhouse gas emissions, according to the Environmental Protection Agency, it makes up a sizeableportion of methane emissions which is a very potent greenhouse gas.
Some of these methane emissions come from cow flatulence, exhaling and belching other livestock animals release methane as well.
Cows emit a massive amount of methane through belching, with a lesser amount through flatulence, according to How Stuff Works. Statistics vary regarding how much methane the average dairy cow expels. Some experts say 100 liters to 200 liters a day
while others say its up to 500 liters
a day. In any case, thats a lot of methane, an amount comparable to the pollution produced by a car in a day.

Why discriminate against cows when there are other, bigger sources of flatulence?

And what about the flatulence that comes out of that BIG behind that follows MooseShell where ever she goes? Time to do something about that flatulence that causes Gorebull Warming. And especially all that comes from her many ‘diplomatic trips’ to such places as China and her many ‘vacations’ at taxpayer (yours and mine) expense. May she be recompensed for all of her evil...

I am laughing so hard I can hardly type. BUT, on a more serious note. Cow flatulence should be at it's lowest since 1953. There are fewer cattle on the ground than since that date. We are seeing it in the grocery stores. It is going to get worse. Fertilizer is up, hay is almost non-existent, farmers can't make a living and are selling their breeding stock. What we need is MORE cow flatulence. That means more cattle in the food chain.
These idiots need to get a life. What they know about cows could be written on thr POINT of a pen, much less the head. Hell, what they know about ANYTHING could be written on the head of a pin with room left for a weekend camp out.

I need to eat a boat load of kimchee, drink a 12 pack and fart in Harry Reid's office.
I might be accused of detonating a weapon of mass destruction.

I’ve got a great idea. We exterminate all predatory mammals (Grizzly Bears, Wolves, and Mountain Lions) and then vastly increase the number of Deer and Elk harvesting tags given out. We also put an unlimited year round harvest on feral pigs. These things will all be considered (Carbon Offsets) and be tax deductible. Win, Win Win all around!
