As part of its plan to reduce U.S. greenhouse gas emissions, the Obama administration is targeting the dairy industry to reduce methane emissions in their operations.
This comes despite falling methane emission levels across the economy since 1990.
The White House has proposed cutting methane emissions from the dairy industry by 25 percent by 2020. Although U.S. agriculture only accounts for about 9 percent of the countrys greenhouse gas emissions, according to the Environmental Protection Agency, it makes up a sizeableportion of methane emissions which is a very potent greenhouse gas.
Some of these methane emissions come from cow flatulence, exhaling and belching other livestock animals release methane as well.
Cows emit a massive amount of methane through belching, with a lesser amount through flatulence, according to How Stuff Works. Statistics vary regarding how much methane the average dairy cow expels. Some experts say 100 liters to 200 liters a day
while others say its up to 500 liters
a day. In any case, thats a lot of methane, an amount comparable to the pollution produced by a car in a day.

They can burn it off I suppose.
An appropriate new title for 0bummer would be Buttplugger-in-Chief.
Let’s see, beef rib steak at $245.00 a pound, leg of lamb $545.00 a pound, eggs $70.00 each, milk $75.00 a gallon and pork unavailable. Yeah, that should do it.
Here they go again. We need to “Fight Against Rediculous Taxes!”
Will Michelle or Joe spearhead this?

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The White House said on Friday it will take a hard look at whether new regulations are needed to cut emissions of methane from the oil and gas industry, part of President Barack Obama’s plan to address climate change. Regulators will start by proposing new rules later this year to reduce venting and flaring from oil and gas wells on public lands, one way to begin slashing emissions of the potent greenhouse gas, said Dan Utech, Obama’s top energy and climate aide. Most oil and gas production takes place on privately owned land. The Environmental Protection Agency...
Ban cows, ban beef. We’ll see it in our lifetime.
Somebody should regulate the White House since it is so full of crap that it reeks of Methane, CO2 and just plain bloviating (not just Bovine) hot air.
It stinks so badly at 1600 Pa. that the Roto-Rotor Man won’t even go there.
I wonder if they are allowed to smoke in there?
