Facebook meme claims Rand Paul and Marco Rubio have anti-science views on dinosaurs, earth's age

A new Facebook meme paints two leading Republicans as anti-science because of their alleged views of the age of the Earth.

The Facebook group Being Liberal posted a picture March 10, 2014, featuring side-by-side images of Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Fla., and Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky., looking somewhat sheepish. Bolded text under the images describes the senators’ views on the age of the Earth and the extinction of the dinosaurs.

According to the meme, Rubio "believes Earth (is) 9,000 years old," and "humans hunted dinosaurs to extinction." Paul, the image proclaims, says the Earth is 10,000 years old and believes "God made dinosaurs disappear to make space for humans." The post received about 5,500 likes and was shared more than 4,000 times.

Upon seeing this, we couldn’t resist digging in and finding out just what these two senators believe about the age of the Earth and the demise of the dinosaurs.

Doesn’t seem to matter whether you take that approach or not, because the left will just make up an answer to make you look silly, as they did here.

And most young earth creationists nail other science questions far better than their old earth counterparts.

Caring about a paradox means caring about the entire picture, too. These are not a bunch of empty headed yeehaws!

Ted should have a science debate with some jerk from MSNBC, he would clean the floor with them.

I’d rather look like a kook than a RINO.

I'm with you on that.

To go a little further. If the "kook" wants my vote, he must recognize a power greater than himself and the absolute difference between good and evil. It is the elitist "non-kooks" that know everything that have been the curse of mankind.

We have paradigm shifts at the eviction from Eden and at the Flood.

To humbly say that we can’t assume we are always dealing with the same universe would be to embarrass a science which assumes we are.

[ If some smart ass tries to corner you with a question like “what is the age of the earth” just say “I don’t know. I wasn’t there. Maybe you should ask my opponent”. ]

Maybe the best way to answer that is that the scientific age of the earth has varied over the last several hundred years with the people thinking it was hundreds of thousands of years old to millions to billions. Then say “If I give you an answer of 4.3 billion years and next year the next hot theory says the earth is 4.5 billion years old can I get a promise from you and your network that you won’t endlessly use that clip to bash me on your network for thinking the earth is 200 million years younger than what will then be a claim by the establishment to be scientifically accurate?”

The thing is you don’t answer the question with a number, let the questioner KNOW that you will not fall for their feeble Saul Alinsky attempt to divide your current base on an issue that at the end of the days nothing to do whatsoever to how you will govern.

Or you could use humor to answer it and use a pop culture reference like: “Well my TARDIS is in the shop right now so I can’t get you an exact figure on the age of the earth right now, and it is expected to take20 years to get it fixed, ask me then.”

[ These leftists are OBSESSED with evolution. To me, 6,000 years of history is more than enough to deal with. What happened before that, I couldn’t care less. ]

The problem is the Left uses it as an effective wedge issue against religious conservative candidates and it works really well which is why they continue to use it.

Instead of trying to answer it we should confront them on their tactic directly and call them out on it.

Maybe even answer with this:

Scientists believe the earth is 4.3 billion years old, Hinu’s believe the earth is 155 trillion years, Some Christians believe the earth is 6,000 years old, Other think it is far older, (then list a few other religions and ages THEY think the earth is)

Does it really matter how OLD I personally think the earth is? And if it does, doesn’t that mean that you are looking for a way to Actively discriminate AGAINST me and satiate your Liberal mindset of being supposedly tolerant at the same time.

I don’t look to cram my personal beliefs about matters that don’t matter in the governance of country down other people’s throats like you side apparently does with that stupid question.

I am not going to answer that question because it is insulting to me and the electorate and my beliefs are between me and god, so screw you.

Depends on how the question is asked.

How many Americans actually believe the earth is only 6,000 years old?

My answer would be that the current scientific evidence is that the Earth is about 4.3 billion years old. However, it is not known what caused the Big Bang or how everything sprang from nothingness. Further, no scientist - not even Miles Degrasse Tyson in “Cosmos” - is able to explain how a self-replicating life form spontaneously arose from inorganic chemicals.

"I think it’s time we quit worrying about what the liberal press tells us will make us look like kooks. A good portion of the rest, will realize that it doesn’t matter for policy."

Wise words!

Doesn’t seem to matter whether you take that approach or not, because the left will just make up an answer to make you look silly, as they did here.

Ask the questioner: Why does that even matter?

When they mention schooling standards, say you support “Diversity in Education” when it comes to teaching such things and that the local school districts should be able to decide on their own what the damn hell they want to teach.

Then hammer the crap out of them them on their top down authoritarian approach to education standards.

Then finish it off with a quip like: “For people who supposedly like Diversity you really don’t seem to actually get the concept of a diverse nation when it comes to what schools teach”.

How about saying that thinking you know how old the earth is like being an orphan who was abandoned at a fire station with no note and claiming to know exactly who their parents are.

And then say does it really matter knowing when the planet was born?

Some lib facebook page no one has heard of makes claims and its instantly a news story...this is ridiculous and a distraction.

These memes go viral on the socialist networking sites like facetard.

I don't see them much these days because there are options on the sites to block all content reposted from this or that annoying source. If someone I know persists in reblogging such lies, I simply unfollow all of their posts. In extreme situations I unfriend them altogether.

But just because it is on "one" page on fakebook doesn't mean that it ONLY stays on that page.

Yesterday libtards were peeing themselves for DUmping on the Amazon reviews of a "Ted Cruz coloring book".

http://www.amazon.com/Ted-Cruz-Future-Coloring-Activity/product-reviews/1619530953/ref=cm_cr_dp_see_all_btm?ie=UTF8&showViewpoints=1&sortBy=bySubmissionDateDescending

The Left has no ideas they can own up to. You are faced with libtard revolutionary socialists and libtard adolescents.

Ask Obama if he believes that God created the universe, and if God did not do it, then was God surprised or does God even exist?
