A Russian assault team with three speed boats, a tug boat and two helicopters captured a Ukrainian ship in Crimea, the Ukrainian Defense Ministry confirmed to Fox News.
The ship is being moved by the tug boat to a Russian military port facility in the Bay of Donuslav, the Ministry said.
There were reports of explosives set off on the ship and the assault team reportedly went on the ship after firing shots.
This was the last Ukrainian ship left in Crimea.
Earlier Tuesday, the Ukraine defense minister resigned as thousands of troops withdrew from the Crimean Peninsula, now controlled by Russia.
In an address to parliament, Igor Tenyukh said he rejected criticism that he had failed to issue clear instructions to troops, but that he reserved the right to step down. Lawmakers initially refused his resignation, but later accepted it. A majority then voted to appoint Col. Gen. Mikhail Kovalyov as his replacement.
At a news conference with Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte Tuesday, President Barack Obama said there's no expectation that Russian forces will be dislodged from Crimea by force.
Obama said Russia's annexation of Crimea isn't a done deal because the international community isn't recognizing it. But he says the fact is Russia's military is in control there.
He also said that the build-up of Russian troops along the Ukrainian border appears to be an attempt to intimidate Ukraine. But he says the troops are on Russian soil and it is Moscow's right to have troops there.

That the country is bankrupt, and its military a hollow shell of corruption is without doubt. So what should America commit to them based on your knowledge of the people of that region or your feeling they are owed a nation? Given what Stalin did to them, one would think they would be more prepared for their own defense against an aggressive Putin - but oddly, they are not. Why?
Obama said Russia’s annexation of Crimea isn’t a done deal because the international community isn’t recognizing it.
If any more proof were needed that this guy is out of
touch with reality, here it is.
It's a failed nation. It seems to be the best thing to do would be to partition it. Let the historic Russian parts vote to stay Russian. Let the mess in western Ukraine hope that Poland or some other nation will annex them.
Otherwise, what are adjacent countries going to do with all of those anarchists and neo-Nazis in western Ukraine on the loose?
I am waiting for the “international community” to declare who they are.
Does anyone know?
Is the US part of that, if they are, do we know about when we became that?
How long will our Navy exist with moves like giving up the Tomahawk and Hellfire Missiles?
And now the traitor is over in Europe, with an entourage of 900 + 45 vehicles yucking it up and oogling the Dutch queen while mooch, her charming mother and delightful daughters are spending a fortune in China.
This is so far beyond belief...
It takes time to recover after massive depression caused by internal turmoil and sudden external aggression. They will fight, believe me. Russian stooges just killed one of prominent fighters Sashko Byliy who fought against Ruskies in many hot spots including Chechnya. I am pretty sure people like him will fight even more enthusiastically on their own soil.
The NEW Ukraine defense minister just resigned.
And those Ukrainian Soldiers on that ship had been ordered home days earlier.
Captain apparently wouldn’t leave his ship behind (one of the very few SERVICABLE Ukrainian ships). Saturday, they were trying to move a 40-ton fireboat that the Russians had sunk next to the Ochakov, to block the channel.
The minesweeping tackle, and the ships power, just weren’t enough to do the job.
I've had the same thought. It occurs to me that the generational influence that once lived under communism never fostered any national pride in the current generation that has grown up "free" (comparatively). Much like Russian citizens themselves, they were bred to be dependent and weak, generally speaking. I'm not sure there are many in Ukraine that believe freedom is worth dying for.
I am trying to keep 100% of the blame on Russia. But as I look around at our own nation where self reliance, national pride and patriotism, American Exceptionalism and morals in general is in steep decline, I must consider the possibility that Ukraine is too weak and too stupid to stand up for themselves. America may not be far behind.
2. Does being from Ukraine mean they are from western Ukraine?
3. What country hosted the event they were participating in?
4. Would those women be better off as citizens of Russia, Poland or some other adjacent country than under the rule of the thugs who staged a violent coup?
The country is in shambles, no doubt. The recent revolution was against Russian puppets that brought this disaster upon Ukrainians. Now Russian nazis trying hard to put the yoke back on their necks. Funny part is that unashamedly fascist Ruskies are crying wolf, declaring all Ukrainians neo-nazis and other nasty names.
But I'll bet the troops aren't.
Why don’t you just kiss Putin’s portrait and stop exposing your ignorance?
Yeah, but Stalin wasn’t Russian.
Would this be the same ship as in this article?

Seems your “Right Sector” is blaming the Ukrainian Interior minister for killing “Sashko Billy”, and are threatening to kill the Interior Minister, Avakov, in response...
Let me guess...
Another of your “Russian Toady’s”, as you call them?
They are not neo-Nazis either.
They owe everyone. Their leaders have been poor overseers.
But there's a solution for all their problems....
Call the USA...Tell them to bring Money.
