Media Matters, the website of choice for Fox News haters everywhere, attacked the cable news network on Monday for using the term “homosexual” in its programming — advancing the peculiar argument that the scientific term has a “pejorative connotation.”
The online “media watchdog” contends that calling gay people “homosexual” is “a practice that’s quickly falling out of favor with major news outlets due the term’s often pejorative connotation and frequent use by opponents of LGBT equality.” Fox News, they chide, “has yet to update its language when referring to gay and lesbian people.”
Buttressing their argument? A weekend piece in the Fashion and Style section of the New York Times entitled “The Decline and Fall of the ‘H’ Word.” In it, reporter Jeremy Peters likens the term to using “colored” to address black people and asserts that the word contains “the ring of disapproval and judgment.”
That was all Media Matters needed to pounce, accusing Fox News of not getting the memo clearly received by the New York Times and other “responsible” journalistic outlets. Specifically singled out were hosts Sarah Palin and Megyn Kelly, although the blog post provided no specific instances of when either of them used the term.
But Fox News anchor Shannon Bream — who Media Matters described as “a pro-discrimination champion” — was caught in the act of using the “H-word” as part of a tweet promoting on a news segment. That tweet, however, was over two years old.

Personally, I use the term, homosexual,, whenever I can, instead of “Gay”. I believe in using proper terminology as opposed to slang. I started as soon as I notice that the LBGT lobby was irritated by the proper terminology.
When a group of people insists on defining themselves by their sexual proclivities, it is only fitting to use the a word that describes those sexual proclivities.
from the dictionary, definition 3 applies:
GAY
1. Filled with or inspiring mirth; merry; sportive.
2. Brilliant; showy.
3. Loving pleasure; wanton.
WANTON
1. Dissolute; unchaste; licentious; lewd; lustful.
2. Recklessly inconsiderate; heartless, or unjust; evincing a malicious nature...
Therefore, to be GAY (homosexual) is: Loving pleasure; dissolute, unchaste, licentious, lewd, lustful, etc. And so they label themselves.
I’m sure they have no objection to the word “heterosexual”.

I refuse to allow the left to tell me what language I can use. I have to put up with the "f" word in almost every movie or cable tv show I watch because the Left thinks it is "edgy". They can put up with the term "homosexual". Homosexual is the proper term for someone who is attracted to the same sex as they are. Heterosexual is the proper term for someone who is attracted to the opposite sex. There is no "perjorative" nature in either term. However, I would like homosexuals to stop using the word "breeder" to describe me just because I had children. I am not livestock.

So that’s what they do. They change the rules without telling us and then condemn us for not knowing the rules. Happened with “Black” which became “African-American.”
The point is that anything and everything that a normal person says or does, or doesn’t say or doesn’t do, is subject to being called a “hate crime.”
I agree - stop calling a homosexual a homosexual. Call him by the proper name “sodomite!” - one who commits an act of sodomy.

Using the word Straight as a starting point Id go with using the word CROOKED as the term of choice for HOMOSEXUALS...as crooked seems to be the antonym of choice ..for STRAIGHT in every dictionary Ive looked at!
