Media Matters, the website of choice for Fox News haters everywhere, attacked the cable news network on Monday for using the term homosexual in its programming advancing the peculiar argument that the scientific term has a pejorative connotation.
The online media watchdog contends that calling gay people homosexual is a practice thats quickly falling out of favor with major news outlets due the terms often pejorative connotation and frequent use by opponents of LGBT equality. Fox News, they chide, has yet to update its language when referring to gay and lesbian people.
Buttressing their argument? A weekend piece in the Fashion and Style section of the New York Times entitled The Decline and Fall of the H Word. In it, reporter Jeremy Peters likens the term to using colored to address black people and asserts that the word contains the ring of disapproval and judgment.
That was all Media Matters needed to pounce, accusing Fox News of not getting the memo clearly received by the New York Times and other responsible journalistic outlets. Specifically singled out were hosts Sarah Palin and Megyn Kelly, although the blog post provided no specific instances of when either of them used the term.
But Fox News anchor Shannon Bream who Media Matters described as a pro-discrimination champion was caught in the act of using the H-word as part of a tweet promoting on a news segment. That tweet, however, was over two years old.

Yes it is rather queer to think that people would be so concerned about what word should be used to refer to perverts of a homosexual nature, isn’t it. I do rather resent the fact that a fine old word like “gay” has been appropriated in such a queer fashion by the homosexuals, I think we should throw a few faggots* on the fire and talk about how really queer all this is while drinking some good stout ale.
*Faggot (unit), archaic unit of measurement for bundles of sticks
Him being busted with a tranny hooker makes me skeptical of his shtick.
Frankly, what should be protested, is the all too common misuse of the adjective "gay." Exhibitionists, who seek to deliberately offend others by "in-your-face" antics, calling attention to their behavioral peculiarities, should not be allowed to appropriate English usage which was once far better applied to a happy, flirtatious girl, enjoying the attention of nice young men.
No, we are not word police, and will not be able to stop the present misusage; but we can certainly ignore the advice of those who corrupt language.
Oh, I totally agree-if they are so fond of the game, then they should embrace the name...
And anyway, I’m tired of having the word “gay” misused-I don’t think I’ve ever met a gay/happy homosexual of either gender, either in my job as a case manager, and certainly not in my present occupation-they are mostly miserable, and never, ever happy with anything.
My trusty 1957 Webster’s, “...4) wonton; licentious; as, a gay dog.”
“In it, reporter Jeremy Peters likens the term to using colored to address black people and asserts that the word contains the ring of disapproval and judgment. “
Then why hasn’t the NAACP changed their name?
They ruined it.
Okay, tell me what they’d have the guys at Fox call Dave Brock.
Then you’re a homophobe.
What does Czerina of linguistics Rachel Jentael have to say about this?
“That’s real retarted sir. It’s homosexu-uh not homosexuAL”
Archtroll David Brock is gay. He was a conservative investigative journalist who was turned using his homosexuality by people around Hildebeast, when he was doing a book about her.
He hashed up the book, pulled his punches, but Frank Rich (gay himself) outed Brock in The Old Grey Whore. Brock lost his gig writing for American Spectator and conservatives shunned him -- exactly what Rich intended.
So he crossed over to the Dark Side, went to work for John Podesta (then organizing MediaMatters), and the rest is .... sludge and slime.
Gamey, unappealing story, but there it is. Another dark victory for Beastwoman.
Yup, that's a GBLT, which you can enjoy while rolling around in your Mazda Miata or (if you're fe-MALE), your Lesbaru WRX.
