NORFOLK, Va. — A sailor was shot and killed at Naval Station Norfolk in Virginia and security forces killed the male civilian suspect, a base spokeswoman said.

What do we have here? Another “MALE” suspect, being gunned down in a Naval Base, right after he has killed another sailor. How can that be? Weren’t we promised that if we took the guns away, we wouldn’t have any more shootings?

The Navy has a gang problem so could be related to gang activity.

I’d bet a reporter wrote the story and an editor wrote the title => sloppy.

During my time in the Air Force, I had heard of at least four male on male rapes... usually a drunken, or ethered(sp?) airman awakening to their roommate smoking their pole. One of my trainees was a victim of such an attack. His career was ruined because he beat the crap out of the rapist the next day in front of too many witnesses.
While I was in the Marine Corps, I knew of two incidents of male-on-male rape.
Once while in Okinawa - just as you described - drunk Marine awakes to his roommate smoking his pole. He started beating the shit outta him and it two or three other Marines to save the smoker’s life!
The other was in Camp Lejeune. We had three-man rooms at our barracks and the three roomies went drinking, one passed out and the other two decided to hold him down and sodomize him. His screaming brought the three roomies from the adjoining head into the room, at which point all four of them kicked the ever-loving-shit outta the two offenders.
In both cases, a quick ass-kicking response left the offenders bloodied and bruised which included a side trip to the hospital on the way to the brig! In neither case were the responses admonished (as it should be)!
I was also thinking its prolly a domestic.

Pretty sure they did; guy took a security guard's handgun and shot the sailor, then other security guards shot him.

I think most of these attacks are not even reported. The victims really don’t want to deal with the embarrassment of having the event exposed.
All but one of those lined-up carriers was in various states of de-activation or overhaul. The Enterprise was one-—decommissioned some time ago. There’s another row just like that at Puget Sound NS. All being retired- and disassembled. It’s notable that we have a larger fleet of de-activated carriers than the rest of the world has working ones. And if push came to shove the process could be reversed in days. The real question for a dumbass enemy is wheretheflock are the working ones?
The sailor and the civilian assailant were shot on board the USS Mahan, an AEGIS guided missile detroyer berthed there.
How the hell did an armed civie get onboard that vessel?
Security watch must have got the perp...but him getting aboard is going to be a key part of the NCIS investigation.
