World Vision's American branch will no longer require its more than 1,100 employees to restrict their sexual activity to marriage between one man and one woman.
Abstinence outside of marriage remains a rule. But a policy change announced Monday [March 24] will now permit gay Christians in legal same-sex marriages to be employed at one of America's largest Christian charities.

This is why I was against the “Thousand Points of Light” concept all the way back to Bush I. If churches and religious organizations start taking government money and assistance they become dependent on government and eventually government tells them what to do. That is a true entanglement of church and state problem, not one of the phony ones that atheists try to bring up.
“This is why I was against the Thousand Points of Light concept all the way back to Bush I. If churches and religious organizations start taking government money and assistance they become dependent on government and eventually government tells them what to do. “
He who pays the piper calls the tune. ‘Easy money’ is rarely that.
It doesn't? Then why do places like Hillsdale & Christendom not deal with any government monies, to include guaranteed student loans, Pell grants, or even the VA.
I did say “usually.” I’m well aware of the strings that come attached with “government money” (actually, it’s OUR money that we loan the government), but the complete “separation” nonsense seems like it would preclude any monies going to Christian education.
Just trying to figure out where you are getting that the “sponsoring the children” thing is a scam. I am sure some organizations do - but we get updates from our boy, etc. And I know others that have visited their WV sponsored children and really build a close relationship with letters, personal gifts on birthdays, etc.
You should be right that it is nonsense, but sadly, reality states that "with shekels come shackles."
Again, the shekels are OURS, that we pay in.
WE are taxpayers, and so should reasonably be able to direct government recourse by OUR discretion, even if they are religious.
But I get your point. The current milieu is anything but rational.

I think that the best option would be to continue to support one’s sponsored child but to let World Vision know that when the child is no longer in the program then the relationship with World Vision will end.
I am fortunate that I just received a letter that my sponsored child is no longer in the program so this is a good time to transfer my support to another organization.
$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
or some insider has a closet that this will make irrelevant.
If all sin is ok then there is no blackmail.
REVERSED!
“REVERSED”
This is great. Now we can keep giving to World Vision. My wife has given for 40 years. By reversing this idiotic and perverse policy our donations will continue.
They recanted..
They recanted for the US side...not the rest of the world side.
“They recanted for the US side...not the rest of the world side.”
No way. This is true? Dang.
Look very carefully at there recantation press releases...states disingenuously....”the policy has been reversed for the U.S. side.” they did not recant for the organization as a whole. Since WV executives travel from other parts of the world and back again on various assignments, some of them possibly bringing their same sex spouses with them, the recantation is meaningless.
“Today’s letter explaining the reversal (posted in full below) was approved by the entire board, Stearns said. [Editor’s note: All references to “World Vision” refer to its U.S. branch only, not its international umbrella organization.]”
