World Vision board member has resigned in protest after the Christian aid group quickly reversed its decision to hire employees in same-sex marriages. Jacquelline Fuller, director of corporate giving for Google Inc., said in an email Wednesday to The Associated Press that she remains a "huge fan" of the group's work on behalf of the poor, but she resigned Friday "as I disagreed with the decision to exclude gay employees who marry."

Taliban gunmen killed a Christian aid worker in Kabul on Monday, and the militant group said it targeted the woman because she was spreading her religion. The dual South African-British national worked with handicapped Afghans and was killed in the western part of Kabul as she was walking to work around 8 a.m., officials said. MADISON, Wisconsin (AP) -- A 5-year-old received a kidney Friday from a donor who answered a newspaper ad placed by the girl's mother. Angela Rushford and the donor were in stable condition Friday at the University of Wisconsin Hospital in Madison, a hospital spokeswoman said.
