HARTFORD, Conn. Connecticut officials are urging owners of now-illegal assault weapons and large capacity ammunition magazines to relinquish them to the police or make them permanently inoperable. The Department of Emergency Services and Public Protection announced Friday it had sent a letter to owners who had failed to register the items by a Jan. 1 deadline, part of last year's gun control law. Officials offered advice on what to do now with the weapons and magazines.

I predict a boom in the storage locker business.

They can be searched at anytime without a warrant.
So can a safety deposit box.

Have you seen or read this open letter to the Men and Women of the Connecticut State Police? This guy does not hold back, just tells them like it is.

CT citizens, please refuse to obey this anti 2A law. Remember in November to elect better people.

Unless they were purchased from private owners [Citizens] they have a record of the sale. If the gun was purchased from a gun store, there is a record of when it was purchased [the date] type gun, gun serial number, and to whom it was sold. When a gun shop receives a gun, they have to log in the date they receives it, the manufacturer, the serial number, and type gun. This information the State already has. Hence the letters.
The "I lost my gun[s] in an accident" did not work with either the Ottomans or the Germans, nor will it work here. The Germans just took whoever had the "accident". The Ottomans , according to history so terrorized the Armenians that bought inoperative guns to turn when the authorities came knocking. For this [having a gun to turn in] they were quickly killed, not tortured to death.

So, you think they are going to start searching every storage locker in the city? And you really think they would have any problem getting a warrent to search a home? The late attempt at registration plus no turn in would establish probable cause in itself in front of any liberal judge.

And how many new prisons is the state building to hold non violent scoffaws?

The letter included raises a question in my mind...
Did Congress and Lincoln outlaw possession of firearm for citizens in the Southern (Confederate) States?

I want to know how they have addresses to send letters to.

Here's the truth for all you corrupt politicians, prosecutors, judicial dorks, feckless LEOs, and enabling talking heads on TV and print editors: the Rule of Law dies when the first body hits the floor as a result of your enforcement efforts. Then the Law of the Jungle begins. Civil war is upon the State of CT (and NY) in this case.
Civil wars take on a life of their own and they cannot be managed or controlled. There are more criminals (as defined by these unconstitutional laws) than there are thug enforcers. Hunt the innocent citizens of your state at your own peril. We, your victims, will actively be hunting you and your families. There aren't enough thug enforcers to protect the guilty perpetrators of these illegal laws. You've become targets of retribution.
You've just put yourselves in the same position that Gen. Custer was at the Little Big Horn: “Where did all the Indians come from? Oh, crap!”

This is one HUGE gut check for Connecticut citizens!
We know the Redcoats have the nerve to attempt something rash, but do the citizens have the cojones to be equally — or vastly more — rash in response? That first shot is the hardest one to take.
The nation is watching.

Imho, the time for the inane 'boating accident' banter is long past.
The fascist bastards in CT and their fellow nazis nationwide aren't going to stop until they're stopped.

Store them out of state and the private property is no longer within the jurisdiction of Connecticut.
Just an idea. Should not be necessary.

I agree that it is unconstitutional and illegal along with being criminal. But Governments throughout history have committed illegal acts and crimes because they controlled the arms and enforcement mechanism [the police and military]. And they were willing to use these instruments [arms, police, and military] against their people who resisted their illegal acts. This is the point in time where the people of CT are now. The State politicians will not hesitate to use deadly force against them. The majority of police personnel will gladly obey the orders to subdue them and take them to prison or kill them. the few that refuse to obey these orders will be replaced by those that will. The purpose of the letters is o buy time for the politicians to position and sound out their troops.
Should this succeed in CT the model will be used Nationwide over time. The results and aftermath of the 2008 and 2012 elections have signaled the politicians that the moral condition of the people show that the majority are ripe for slave hood. The few that resist will be dealt with violently and brutally as examples.

The fact that the state has a list of owners , of offensive items, should be enough.
But, they shouldn’t have said list anyway.
