A social studies workbook, used in an Illinois public middle school, is generating controversy among gun rights supporters because it claims that the Second Amendment permits only strictly regulated, registered gun ownership.
A screenshot of the workbook was first posted to the Facebook page for Illinois Gun Owners Rights. It provides the following description of the Second Amendment:

The Marxists love it when conservatives run around like ants whose hill has been kicked over issues like Common Core. Conservatives are in a dither about how the icing on the poop cake is smeared. In the meantime, the Marxists continue to hold the nation's kids in indoctrination centers that are godless. Children in these indoctrination centers risk learning that any voting mob powerful enough to give them tuition-free schooling is powerful enough to give them **lots** of “free” stuff.
To have any hope of saving this nation the government's K-12 indoctrination centers **MUST** be shut down and conservatives must **seriously** find ways to deliver a private and conservative education to all of the nation's children.
The Marxists are laughing at us. They have the kids.
I just did a Google search on the Eagle Forum to see if they are calling for the complete shut down of government K-12 schooling. I found nothing.
Seems to me, with regard to Common Core, the Eagle Forum is calling for a rearrangement of the deck chairs on the Titanic.
Very frustrating when even the Eagle Forum fails to “get it”.
Back in the ‘60’s, my textbook said the 2nd amendment didn’t include individual gun ownership.

LOL! Yes. But I don’t remember the ‘50’s.
Education used to be run by the states and was never a federally-managed institution. It’s only since the department of education was founded in 1979 that schools have taken such a sharp turn for the worst.
Even if government school districts were the size of a city block or suburban subdivision, there would still be irresolvable problems.
Problems:
1) It is impossible to have a religiously, culturally, and politically neutral education. Even if Single-payer and socialist-entitlement school districts ( SS schools) were the size of suburban subdivision, some citizens would be forced ( that means police and court threat) to fund an educational worldview that is abhorrant to them.
2) The children in SS schools ( even if totally controlled by small districts) risk learning that any voting mob powerful enough to give them tuition-free schooling is powerful enough to give them **lots** of “free” stuff. It only took one to three generations of locally controlled SS schooling to produce voter comfortable enough with socialism to give the nation Franklin D. Roosevelt.
3) Also,....SS schooling has **always** been controlled by Progressives. They have always trained the teachers and developed the curriculum. They have always been pushing at the bounderies of society's morals and ethics. Why would that change? It was that way even when school districts were locally controlled in the early 1900s.
Government schooling from its beginnings in the mid-1800s to early 1900s has always been a single-payer, compulsory-use, compulsory-funded socialist entitlement. Locally controlled socialism is still compulsory socialism. It inevitably moves toward greater and greater centralization.

3) The whole explanation of the RKBA is very weak. It protects the right to defend one's home ... AND a whole lot more.

5) Certain weapons??? I see no limit on type of "arms" protected in 2A.
Behind bars for over 2 decades, and counting, is far more than most murderers get. The average is around 8 years, I think. I'm not sure you can say "NO" justice in that case. You want blood, and understandably so, but if every emotional family member of a victim was granted that wish when and how they demanded it, we'd have to build more execution chambers than Starbucks has stores.

Justice is what the jury decides. We victims have to live with it. In this case 2 juries handed down the DP. Hierarchical counting, Nikki’s death was the charge, the aggravating charge was her rape.
Hierarchical counting is the government’s fuzzy math for crime. Person is kidnapped, robbed, raped, murdered. ONLY the MURDER counts, rest are flushed down the toilet.
20 yrs on death row, does not equal the deserved justice that was handed down.
To top it off victims have to pay TAXES to imprison the criminals who harmed them.
After 20 yrs you loose the emotional, you just want what was PROMISED! What is deserved!
We are not talking gang bang stuff, this is a child raped and strangled to death.
When justice is not followed through, you send the message to criminals they can get away with it. Same as letting them out early for over crowding.
Well build some prisons in the middle of Death Valley and make sure it is a week’s walk from water. And Stack their butts in it.

When criminals are let out early this is what you get MORE CRIME at a higher rate than before they went to prison.
These prisoners were on probation or parole from a previous crime. 6,800 people would NOT have been murdered. 5,500 would not have been raped. Had justice been fulfilled.
