Joe Biden must plan on living a long time, and be prepared on participating in a long, drawn-out process. That's because he wants to recommend President Barack Obama for sainthood.
He made the comments while speaking at a conference of community health centers in New York, The Hill reports.
Biden says he should be put on the same pedestal as Mother Theresa and Pope John Paul II for his patience he displayed during all of the technical difficulties HealthCare.gov has experienced.
"We didn't help you much at the front end here, man," Biden said.
For Biden to follow through on helping earning Obama saint status a few things are going to happen:
- Obama's going to have to die before 71-year-old Biden, since only dead folks can earn that status.
- Prove that Obama performed at least one miracle.
Which miracles will be the winner? Getting Osama bin Laden? Actually getting people to sign up through HealthCare.gov?

Okay Biden, how do you handle Obama’s stance on abortion? He had stood for terminating live children when the abortion process failed. He has stood for free access to abortion. He stood for homosexual marriage. These and others are not things that would get one canonized. Quite the opposite. These are things that would send one to hell. How come the democrats are so violently twisted that they would even say such a thing? Biden is a Catholic and should know better. And how come the Catholic democrats all seem to have lost their faith and knowledge of right and wrong?

You need two miracles attributed to you to be recognized as a saint. If the country survives eight years of him, that would be the first miracle.

I can’t remember — that sounds familiar. It that from one of his idiotic ‘speeches’? |
Worse. He was glorifying himself with the Holy Oprah.
DAVID WRIGHT: We've been to dozens of huge rallies like this in dozens of states and with every victory, Obama's congregation seems to be growing. If you've never been to an Obama rally before, a word of advice, go early. Think Springsteen concerts, but the tickets are free. First come, first serve. In Boise, Idaho, a few weeks back it couldn't have been more than 15 degrees out. But outside Taco Bell Arena early on a Saturday morning, everyone waited patiently because inside--
OBAMA: If you arrive together, we will remake this country and we will remake the world.
WRIGHT: --inside, they felt the warm glow of hope.
OBAMA: Keep me in your prayers. You know, make sure that everybody is praying and give me that protective blanket over it.
WRIGHT: Obama's true believers respond as though they've spent their whole lives out in the cold. At rally after rally, a few people literally faint.
OBAMA: [Montage of Obama reacting to fainting]: Is somebody okay? Did somebody just get faint? It looks like we have somebody who may have fainted. Hold on a second, young lady. Are you okay? Why don't you sit down though.
WRIGHT: Politics doesn't even begin to describe it. A visit to an Obama rally is a pilgrimage.
[...]
WRIGHT: From Boise to Baltimore, he's winning them over. For you, is it even a close call between him and Hillary Clinton?
SECOND OBAMA SUPPORTER (FEMALE): Not at all. Because, as he said, she is the past, he is the future and the present. You know, you have to move forward.
OBAMA: There is a moment in the life of every generation, if it is to make its mark on history, where that spirit of hope has to come through.
WRIGHT: From the looks on their faces, they're yearning to hear stuff like that. As though they've waited for so long, they've almost lost hope. And now he comes along.
OBAMA: But we spend our whole lives caught up in being told what we can't do. And what's not possible, and that children have to be poor and race always is going to matter in this country and there's always going to be injustice and the economy can never work for anybody. We're fed that stuff all the time. Mostly by folks who are in power and take advantage of the status quo.
[...]
WRIGHT: Some testimonials are nostalgic for an era when hope didn't seem so naive. Others imagined what has never been and asked why not.
OPRAH WINFREY: Disappointment doesn't have to be normal anymore. For the first time, I'm stepping out of my pew because I've been inspired.
OBAMA: Thank you, Oprah. And I love you.
WRIGHT: At this point, the bar is so high even the believers are starting to doubt he can pull it off.
STEIN: We know we're being fooled, but we kind of like it. I can't get off his ride, it's too good.
WRIGHT: The potential for disappointment is as big as Texas. People's hopes have been raised so high. Young people hoping that Obama can redeem politics from mere partisanship, black people hoping he can finally achieve Martin Luther King's dream. White people hoping he can redeem America from the sins of slavery and segregation. It is hard to see how any politician, a mere human, can achieve all that, but it will be very interesting to watch.

What I want to know is why these prominent pro-abortion Catholics have not been excommunicated?
And, why is Dingy Harry Reid still in good standing in the Mormon Church? Surely his public life is not very Mormon-like?

That is the RESOLUTE DESK, fashioned from the timbers of the British warship HMS Resolute. It was a gift from the British to President Hayes in 1880. The Moron-n-Thief HATES the Brits due to his delusional fabrication about them having imprisoned and tortured his father when Kenya was still a British colony. That's BS on two levels: It never happened and FRANK MARSHALL DAVIS (his biological baby daddy) was NEVER IN KENYA!

Joe, let’s set aside the parts about Barry normally needing to be dead and Catholic (or on track to be...Catholic, not dead, that part’s not optional). I’m not sure what would amuse the guys at Causes of Saints more these days: The thought that Barry would die for his faith, let alone the Catholic faith, or the thought that either his words and deeds while pushing Obamacare, or his suffering the perfectly foreseeable political consequences of the same, would count as heroic virtue.

So now he goes from being a Muslim to a Christian to a Catholic so he can become a saint? I think the only thing he needs to do is go back where he came from. That is if he even knows himself. His weirdo mother could have had him in Cuba for all we know. She was one stupid broad.

I agree with you. I would have done it years ago. Biden, Pelosi, etc. would have been long gone. It would be a tough sell from there. How could they tell people they were Catholic from there?
To: NYer
from messiah to saint, such a step down in status. Poor Biden doesn’t know his religious rankings, or did he finally have a lucid moment?
