Moscow is studying Washington's list of individuals against whom sanctions were imposed, and already puzzled by some of the names, Russian President's Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov said.
"One can say straight away that we are extremely bewildered by the presence of some names on the list," Peskov said.
"So far I cannot say what the reaction is of other people on the US list but Ivanov perceived the news with humor," the president's press secretary said.
Ivanov spent 20-odd years serving in the KGB's First Main Directorate and later in the Russian External Intelligence Service, Peskov recalled.
"As a result of his intelligence activities he was already banned entry to a majority of countries in the West. So he is quite accustomed to this situation," Peskov said.
I hope they continue mocking him and get China in on the beat down as well.
FUBO
It is such a sad state of affairs in this country with the joker at the helm
They are laughing at our fearless leader. I am too.
Ping.
Only makes sense if the shadowy cabal of statists who tell Obama what to do is profiting financially from this selection.
So they ban an ex-KGB and SVR guy.
Its not like he couldn’t see this coming.
maybe Putin should put sanctions on Obama’s pizza delivery guy, just to mock him some more. LOL
“Only makes sense if the shadowy cabal of statists who tell Obama what to do is profiting financially from this selection.”
You got it in ONE, sir...
We should research these people, and how they have effected the Open Society orgs. I’ve got the feeling it’s personal between The Soros Group, and Ivanov.
and if he weren’t put on the list then the russians would have been cryin’ “not fair boo hoo hoo how come he’s not on the list?”
BTW, the russians are playing by the Alinsky rules. it is fun watching them squirm.
That would be funny if the Russians come out and say that!
Gee! I hope Russia doesn’t “sanction” me as a result of Obama’s blundering. .... or do I?
And just like THAT, 10 seconds of Google reveals this:
Ivanov: World Financial System Is “Major Beneficiary” of Drugs
January 28, 2013 11:03AM
Russian anti-drug czar Victor Ivanov pointed to the link of drug trafficking to armed paramilitary groups in North Africa, and leveled a new broadside against “the world financial system” for being “one of the major beneficiaries” of the drug trade, in a lengthy Jan. 17 interview with the Spanish-language edition of Russia Today TV. Ivanov has repeatedly denounced the major international banks for actively seeking drug money deposits, and has specified that a return to FDR’s Glass-Steagall standard would put an end to this process. In his latest remarks (the full Spanish transcription can be found at www.larouchista.com/node/2000) Ivanov said:
“The beneficiaries [of the drug trade] are, above all, the drug traffickers and, unfortunately, it has to be said that one of the major beneficiaries is the world financial system. Since the funds obtained from the yearly drug trade are estimated to be between 500 and 800 billion dollars, it goes without saying that those billions of dollars are not placed under the pillow, but become part of the financial system they are legalized, they are laundered, causing colossal damage to the country’s economy.”
Ivanov pointed to the role of the drug trade in the spreading terrorist war in northern Africa: “Recently there is a tendency to transport a significant quantity of drugs through the countries of Western Africa towards Europe. In the last five years, the market for cocaine sales in Europe grew by approximately 2 to 4 times; that is to say, there was a gigantic redistribution of flows.
He all but mentions Soros by name!
Here are some of the names:
Ivan Koloff
Boris Badenov
General Strelnikov
Ivan Drago
Russians are no different than 47% of the US voting population....”WTF”?
Good one durbin...
Did the it mention the Queen of England's involvement in the global drug trade? /s
Moscow: Just come at Obama with this realization: ANY decision Obama makes is designed to harm America in some way. Look at the names, and see if somehow sanctioning these people will harm our interests. I bet you, you will figure it out somehow.
One of the names on the Obama list was a Russian mafia member featured on the CBS show Blue Bloods.
