You're MSNBC. That hurts I know, but work with me. So, what would you like to feature: President Obama getting Putinized? Syria flouting the WMD agreement? Iran's inexorable march toward nukes? The ongoing Obamacare debacle?
Not so much. Say: why not make like CNN and go all in on MH-370? Which is precisely what Morning Joe did today. The first 103 minutes were devoted exclusively to the story of the missing plane, as an endless series of experts and panelists speculated to no particular avail. Rare that we agree with Madeline Albright. But long into the second hour, duringfinallya Ukraine segment, Albright said "I know we're all focused on the airplane," but suggesting that Russia is a much more crucial issue. Mika Brzezinski reacted defensively.

Morning Joe goes all MH370—better than Obama’s failures! Ping to Today show list.
Mark..been meaning to ask..does your portfolio at Newsbusters extend to Ronan Farrow? Have you watched it?
Between the nonsense on this plane and the Oscar Pistorius business, news shows are left with mere seconds left to cover things with real import.
They’re feeding the pin headed audience what they want.
Haven’t heard about this. There’s an aircraft missing?
My favorite four days of the year.
Go Zags!
Hi Ken: I don’t think anyone at NB has been formally assigned the RF beat. I have watched and blogged on it once. He doesn’t seem to fill the screen, it seems to me.
LOL: yes, why has the MSM been ignoring the story? ;-)
I haven’t seen an FR bracket thread....
Watch what happens to her when some issue involving women comes up. She has one big chip on her shoulder. Probably a carryover from when she was fired from CBS.
Bracket? The final outcome of the bracket will be the GATORS! Go Gators!!!!
They’re my pick to go all the way..
This plane hijacking come along just in time to distract from Obummer’s surrender to Putin. How convenient......
CNN devoted about three straight hours to flight 370 last night. Yes, it is a puzzling event, but three hours to cover just one new development (possible debris sighting)? Even a very thorough report could have been done in an hour or less, including full coverage of the Aussie news conference. (By the way, I liked the guy who made the presentation for the Aussie government. It was very much NOT about him, but “just the facts” with no hype.)
LOL amen
MH370 has NOTHING to do with any of the very many and increasing number of Obama scandals:
THAT is why the MSM loves this story.
In effect it is taking the place of a huge STORM, with the sexy correspondent getting her hair and skirt blown up as she squints and screams against the wind into a microphone.
The lesson is if you’re going to ignore something huge, you’ve got to substitute something else that’s pretty huge.
Before the Monica Lewinsky scandal broke it was VERY well known here at FR, and we had phalaxes of experts debating it back and forth —this place was like a beehive of activity in a universe parallel to an utterly serene convention of silent myrmidons.
Drudge —which was tiny then— and FR were talking about it, and then finally the Enquirer, and then FINALLY the flood broke lose.
It took over 8 months, I believe.
