WELCOME TO THE
(where our troops, allies and their families can refresh themselves)
Good morning, Everyone.
Good morning to our
Military, our Allies, and their families.
Thank you, Ma, for preparing the Canteen
for today's activities
Thanks for another big picture of what the military does.
SOUP FOR THE TROOPS
Making Z Zoup
A cup of this...a teaspoon of that...
Hells Canyon on the Snake River
is deeper than the Grand Canyon.
Since housecats are clean and their coats are dry and glossy,
their fur easily becomes charged with electricity.
Sparks can be seen if their fur is rubbed in the dark.
The State of Nevada first legalized gambling in 1931.
At that same time, the Hoover Dam was being built
and the federal government did not want its workers
(who earned 50 cents an hour)
to be involved with such diversions,
so they built the town of Boulder City to house the dam workers.
To this day, Boulder City is the only city
in Nevada where gambling is illegal.
Hoover Dam is 726 feet tall and 660 feet thick at its base.
Enough rock was excavated in its construction
to build the Great Wall of China.
Contrary to old wives' tales,
no workers were buried in the dam's concrete.
A camel can lose up to 30 percent of its body weight
in perspiration and continue to cross the desert.
A human would die of heat shock
after sweating away only 12 percent of body weight.
The South Pole is actually a desert environment,
averaging about the same amount of monthly rainfall as
the Sahara Desert.
Lightning kills more people in the US
than any other natural disaster:
an average of 400 dead and 1,000 injured yearly.
The FR Canteen is ALWAYS
Come in, sit down.
Grab a cup of joe, or tasty tea.
Mingle a bit, chat with the troops
or family member.
There's always plenty of conversation, silliness,
and plain old BS in the FR Canteen.

Good afternoon/evening, beachy...((HUGS))
Taking a couple days off while my sister is here and we are stuffing all my Mom’s appointments into a couple days. Now I’m sitting at the eye doc’s office while my sister stays with her for the exam.
