Coffee stand hit three times.
Krystal Cogswell wears a holstered pistol on her hip while pulling espresso at Jitterz Java in Northwest Spokane.
I figure if they can see it, maybe it will be a deterrent, apparently being a girl isnt enough, the 24-year-old said.
Robbers have struck Jitterz Java twice in February. On Sunday, a man who appeared to be armed ran off after a barista grabbed her gun and called police.
The recent string of violence has owner Sara Chapel fed up. The way Ive been scheduling the girls is that at least one girl who carries a gun is always on shift, she said. The women will carry their own personal handguns that theyve been trained to use.
Chapel has encouraged all of her employees to seek firearms training.

I had to read this comment a couple of times.

When I first saw pic, I commented to myself how the piece had a nice place to rest.
Then ‘CE’ sort of ‘read my mind’...
The little bank inside the small grocery store was robbed near us. The cops were there shortly - but the guy was gone. The cops had been inside the Starbucks two doors down (150 feet?) at the time.
Thank you and God willing we will be able to offer you a safe place to live after June of 2018.
Being white is not the reason for low crime. A cultural adherence to a value set that comes from a long history of thought and philosophy and religion is THE why. “Whites” did not magically pop into existence as better people it took thousands of years of struggle, violence and bloodshed to forge western thought. But we have thrown it away in one generation. I hope this experiment will eventually put us back on the right track, but i doubt it. A new dark age is more likely. A 1000 years perhaps and much misery.
However, philosophically, I believe armed Baristas are an excellent idea. And the rest of the gals should carry on their person, too, if they have a mind to.
I recommend not using a purse or handbag, and have respectfully disagreed with FReeper gals on this point, and anything that makes them and society more comfortable with firearms on their person, open or concealed, is OK with me.
