Is misinformation about the climate criminally negligent? Lawrence Torcello, PHILOSPHY professor thinks so.
"The importance of clearly communicating science to the public should not be underestimated. Accurately understanding our natural environment and sharing that information can be a matter of life or death. When it comes to global warming, much of the public remains in denial about a set of facts that the majority of scientists clearly agree on. With such high stakes, an organised campaign funding misinformation ought to be considered criminally negligent.

Consensus does not equal truth. Just because the majority think a certain way doesn't make it fact.
I love folks like Torcello.
He pulls the masks off of envirofacists and reveals their true, pagan nature. Environmentalism is a Religion, Anthropogenic Global Climate Change is their doctrine and they want to use the force of Law to force others to abide by their dictates.
Hey...Mr. Torcello...I got yer “prison” hangin’ right heah, little pal. Heh, heh...heh, heh...
Communists should be hung from lamp posts, Mr. Torcello. Your move.
Neah. They should be allowed to roam free.
But we should strongly consider removing the warning labels from many of their favorite products...
Exactly what I was thinking. Get them in a court room and make them prove it and then bring out all the emails admitting to fraud. Then, as they wish, jail them. Sell everything they own and give it back to the taxpayers.
We wouldn’t call them “NAZIs” if they didn’t act so “NAZI-esque!”
Oh for the good old days when philosophers would drink their hemlock and leave the rest of us be ....
Seriously, what possesses these people to be such dogmatists. What's next, walk on burning coals to prove your love for AlGore?
Hey we’re coming up in the world. They used to say we should be killed. Remember the video where students who “didn’t believe” had their heads explode in the classroom?
It was quite graphic.
The climate change Inquisition is hunting heretics. At least burning heretics at the stake is off the Inquisition’s punishments as it would add too much carbon to the atmosphere. However the rack and thumbscrews are “green” especially if they are made with recycled materials.
Oddly, I am a scientist, and I have yet to see any evidence that humans have more than a negligible effect on climate (and that effect is local). To convince me that humans have so much influence on the climate that we threaten the very existence of the earth, you are going to have to show me some evidence.
True scientists don’t fall for fads just because they support someone’s anti-freedom politics.
So this is that “science” people keep talking about? Intimidate and imprison anyone who disagrees with you?
Who is denying climate change? Global warming is being denied, not climate change.

A Philosophy professor feels qualified to comment on science? Maybe scientists need to comment more on philosophy.
