The Malaysian government reportedly is investigating the possibility that missing Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370 avoided radar detection and landed in Pakistan near the Afghanistan border inside Taliban-controlled territory, according to the UK Independent . . . investigators confiscated a homemade flight simulator from the pilots home to see if it reveals any useful information . . . the Malaysian foreign minister told reporters that Malaysia asked several Asian countries for assistance in its investigation, including Pakistan . . . Pakistan dismissed the idea that a Boeing 777 could land undetected inside the country but promised to work with the Malaysian government in its search for the missing plane . . . a LIGNET analyst received information from a source at Boeing that the company believes the plane did land in Pakistan . . . Israel is taking the possibility of a terrorist attack seriously by mobilizing air defenses and scrutinizing approaching civilian aircraft, according to the Times of Israel . . . a Boeing 777 requires a lengthy, 7,500-foot runway, and Pakistan has many of them, meaning Flight 370 could conceivably be hidden in a hangar inside the country . . . U.S. surveillance of the area may be able to shed light on the theory through satellite imagery or signals intelligence.
Why kill passengers, when they can be sold as slaves and concubines?
I’m sure we’re not getting the story, and we probably shouldn’t be.
If even one person on that flight had an IPhone with “Find my phone” enabled and had left their IPad with a family member who knew the password, they’d know exactly where that flight was, even if the phone was turned off. Possibly nobody had this combination, but I’m sure Apple could get the information if needed. The same applies to some of the Droid phones, I believe.
That said, one of the problems is that the plane was hijacked where most of the countries are 3rd World or nearly so. Malaysia has a great urban business area, but beyond that, it seems to be mainly peasants, and this is true of a lot of the region.
There may be enough infrastructure in these places to support GPS services, but on the other hand, I wouldn’t count on it.
I read that the Malaysians were supposed to have 4 people on duty at their radar station ... and they were there, but none of them noticed the unidentified plane flying across their airspace for an hour or so. It wasn’t until morning when an investigation was started and they reviewed the records that this was found.
Also, some of the other countries and regions around them simply turn their radar and location systems off at night to save electricity.
Comforting, right?
This aircraft whereabouts was designed to replace Osama’s whereabouts.. Was he even captured or dead already? We don’t know.
So these jihadis might have decided to fly South because...they wanted the ultimate getaway vacation?
Pakistan dismissed the idea that a Boeing 777 could land undetected inside the country
Well, that’s real reliable.... [koff koff sealteamsix koff].
Let me elaborate.. Barry and the Dems need something REALLY BIG AND EARTH-SHATTERING to bolster their miserable party before the midterms. Watch for an amazing SEAL recovery of this aircraft with most passengers alive and safe RIGHT BEFORE THE MIDTERM ELECTIONS. WHAT A COINCIDENCE.
I read an article saying that 370 shadowed a Singapore-Barcelona flight and then peeled off when it got to where it was supposed to land. Possibly Pakistan or one of the other ‘Stans.
Oddly enough...just saw another thread that said Israel is taking this pretty seriously.
OBL ‘ELECTION BOUNCE’ #2 in the making.
Someone mentioned a very easy solution for that - one of those online cel phone jammers that people like to play around with ...
I haven’t read the article or even know about the source. But I do know that Osama bin Ladin hid out in Pakistan for years and hid out right next to a Pakistani Military facility.
Whether it’s crashed or landed, I think they know where it is, or have a good idea where it is.
Lord Risby
I really want to become a Lord. How does one do that?
My money is on a plunge into deep water—end of story. I hope I am wrong.
Play your trump card for a 777?
There is absolutely no reason to fly for seven additional hours to crash into water if you could do that minutes after taking off at Kuala Lumpur. Water is not in short supply there, and it's the same water everywhere.
All the available hints point at a government operation. So far, it appears to be flawlessly executed. One possible goal is to obtain an unregistered, unaffiliated airplane, masquerade it as some other civilian flight, load it with bomb(s), and send it to some other country with a suicide pilot, most certainly under a carefully selected false flag. A US airplane attacking Israel, for example; or a Chinese airliner exploding in New Delhi. It could take a while to figure out who was actually responsible - and, with proper supporting actions, the missiles would be flying by then. The World War I was started with just one shot from a revolver.
I agree. We know where it is.
The bad guys also know that the longer the plane sits around the less likely they’ll be able to go through with their plans.
There’s a reason they grabbed that plane. We’re going to find out very soon.
Yes. Big problem.
Pakistan would never dare to attack us directly but they would be glad to have somebody else do it. The Saudis, IMO, are a mixed bag: some of them just want to have their gold bathroom fixtures and hang out with supermodels on the Costa del Sol, while others are total loonies. The only reason we cultivate the gold bathroom fixture Saudis is that they keep their loonies sort of in check (that’s why Bin Laden was operating offshore).
The aircraft, increased the altitude, to 45000 ft....they then vented the aircraft, and killed everyone in seconds...yes the oxygen masks may have been available, but that air supply only lasts a few minutes.....if the crew were able to pull the fuses on the ACARS, then they could pull the fuses on the oxygen masks....
