Boeing Source: Missing Plane in Pakistan
Lignet ^ | March 17, 2014, 5:30 p.m. |

The Malaysian government reportedly is investigating the possibility that missing Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370 avoided radar detection and landed in Pakistan near the Afghanistan border inside Taliban-controlled territory, according to the UK Independent . . . investigators confiscated a homemade flight simulator from the pilot’s home to see if it reveals any useful information . . . the Malaysian foreign minister told reporters that Malaysia asked several Asian countries for assistance in its investigation, including Pakistan . . . Pakistan dismissed the idea that a Boeing 777 could land undetected inside the country but promised to work with the Malaysian government in its search for the missing plane . . . a LIGNET analyst received information from a source at Boeing that the company believes the plane did land in Pakistan . . . Israel is taking the possibility of a terrorist attack seriously by mobilizing air defenses and scrutinizing approaching civilian aircraft, according to the Times of Israel . . . a Boeing 777 requires a lengthy, 7,500-foot runway, and Pakistan has many of them, meaning Flight 370 could conceivably be hidden in a hangar inside the country . . . U.S. surveillance of the area may be able to shed light on the theory through satellite imagery or signals intelligence.

“Hard to believe that of the 239 cell phones on the plane, even with dead owners; not one has pinged on the ground or on the way to the ground.”

.....Perhaps they did PING and we’re not getting the story!

there is a contingent of FReepers that insist it crashed into the ocean without a trace of debris or other evidence.

If they went South and landed in an ocean where the average depth is 12,000 feet, they WOULD disappear without a trace and almost certainly never be found.

I'm not saying that's what they DID - just that a deep water crash would be very difficult to find.

You can bet the IRS would know EXACTLY where this plane was if Conservatives were on board

In order to get to Pakistan it would have to fly over or around India.”

I believe I read the other day that an Indian general was interviewed and said they had their Indian Ocean facing military radar turned off at the time of the MH 370 flight.

I guess they had not been expecting an attack and wanted to conserve their operating funds.

There was a very good article posted earlier from an aviation magazine that suggested that 370 had simply dropped in behind a flight at the same time that was going to fly that arc from Singapore to Barcelona. It would not have been detected by radar and would have followed the Barcelona-bound flight to wherever it wanted to jump off along that arc in a place that was not monitored by India, China or the US (from Afghanistan).

This could be northern Pakistan, but I think it’s more likely to be one of the even more northerly ‘Stans or even somewhere in remote northern China. I think the final target is probably Russia or China and not the US, but on the other hand, it’s a long-haul plane and with enough fuel it could reach us.

A disclaimer...I know nothing about flying, and I’m just putting together my theory (which is certainly subject to change!) from what I read here and on other sites.

I suppose if they were close enough to a cell tower they could get a call through, but not if they're more than 22-45 miles away.

Don’t forget that Pakistan is a nuclear state.

And don't forget that, together with Saudi Arabia, it is the main enemy.

Israel is getting ready for Passover...which, I’m sure, is a fact well-known by Iran/Pakistan, etc. Looking to make a holiday terrorist attack?

>> “Landing isn’t the problem. Taking off again; that’s the issue.” <<

.
Depends on how much fuel it has to carry to get to its destination.

It is known to be able to take off with less than 4000 feet of runway.

Any chance that a country has developed stealth technology that could have hid it from radar?

Not unless the Romulans gave them the technology !!!

Stealth airplanes are stealthy because of the angles of the frame and material the plane is made from...radar bounces off the plane and sends it in a different angle versus back to the radar source...or is partially absorbed...

It's not possible to configure a Boeing 777 into a stealthy aircraft...

That bastard must have killed all the passengers. The Muslim pilot probably put on oxygen, opened the outflow valves at 45,000 feet and murdered all the men, women, and children on board.

Syria tried that once, and lost, even though their tanks out-numbered Israel’s by 20:1

Pakistan dismissed the idea that a Boeing 777 could land undetected inside the country

If you read it carefully, they are saying that if the airplane did land inside their country, it happened with full awareness of the military.

The airplane could circle around India, far enough from the coast to not be seen by radars, and then cross the border anywhere at Pakistan's 500 miles long coast.

To add to the conspiracy: since Pakistan has its own fleet of similar airliners, Pakistan could have filed a flight plan ahead of time. Then the hijacked airplane could switch identifiers to the ones of that flight - and every radar would see it as the scheduled decoy flight, which never left the ground. Alternatively, they put the decoy airplane in the air and hide the stolen one in its shadow. Hard to do that without anyone in the other airplane noticing; but if they are assisting you then it's easier. With one airplane's transponder working and answering, nobody would give a second thought to the double blip on the screen - even if anyone cares to look. If the radar operator is not deeply involved in managing that flight, he won't bother. Other pilots could have seen the unusual pair... but not at night.

The path from Malaysia to Karachi over water is 3,700 miles. A Boeing 777-200ER has range of 8,892 miles, so it's just a matter of fuel. But you know what is the straight line distance from Kuala Lumpur to Bejing? 3,600 miles! Bejing is at the very north of China. So the aircraft had enough to reach Pakistan even without loading additional fuel. At cruise speed of 560 mph it would have taken 6 hours from the moment of departure; the last satellite contact was at 8:11, and that's probably the time when the airplane was completely powered down inside a hangar, or just placed inside a hangar - the steel walls would block the radio signals.
