An Expose of the Men Responsible for the Decline and Fall of Western Civilization
People Who Need to Read This Book:
People who prefer A.D. to C.E. on their calendar.
People who wonder how anybody in their right mind could approve of Nero's legacy of same-sex marriage, let alone 70% of the millennial generation.
People who want their grandchildren to be Christians.
People who are bothered by the fact that the most liberal part of society is the universities, and the most liberal part of the universities is the liberal arts department, and the most liberal part of the liberal arts department is made up of the literature and religious studies professors.
People who are tired of losing almost every political battle for family, faith, and freedom over 100 years.
People who willing to join the battle in the war of ideas.
People who would like to know why 95% of the Western world followed the programs and ideas of Charles Darwin, Karl Marx, Friedrich Nietzsche, Jean-Paul Sartre, and John Dewey.
People who wonder why Lady Gaga is so popular.
People who consider a world where divorce rates, illegitimacy rates, shack-up rates, homosexuality rates, etc. are orders of magnitude higher than they were in the early 19th century, and conclude that this may be the end of a civilization.

I’d also like to point out that the founder of NARTH (go look it up) was a Freudian psychoanalyst, Dr. Charles Socarides. The church should have been taking this bull by the horns. It didn’t.

I think he actually was against shallow uses of these things...I think he was too - that's why I was careful to say that he was perceived to have taught - it's been a half century since I read it, but I think it was Freud's "Civilization and Its Discontents" where he talks abut the necessary moderation in the Super-ego's influence on the individual's functioning - he thought the conscience had been too strongly developed in too many people in his time, but still felt that conscience was necessary for people to live together in any sort of relationship of mutual benefit - unfortunately the latter part of this got lost in the translation of his teachings into the popular culture - the idea that we shouldn't be too restricted by our consciences and morality is probably just what a lot of first year psych student - college sophomores want to hear, and take away from Freud - my experience in church such as it was years ago wasn't that they were particularly critical of Freud - in fact I can remember some "intellectual" preachers who seemed to weave bits and pieces of his teachings into their sermons with apparent approval - but I certainly agree that most churches have spent too much time finding fault with other institutions and practices and not nearly enough "casting the moat from their own eyes" (I think that's the way it went)......
