Cultural trends are often said to jump the shark when they go too far and become laughable or obsolete. The White House is in this territory with its desperatedesperatemarketing of Obamacare.
Today, Lance Bassa member of the boy band *NSYNC, which was popular in the late 1990s and early 2000stweeted that he was entering the White House to meet w the President to discuss health care reform. He added a website address: HealthCare.org.
Politically active Twitter users quickly mocked this high-level meeting and the fact that the pop star of yesteryear didnt even know he was supposed to be pointing followers to HealthCare.gov.
The tweet has since been deleted, but here it is for posterity:
Bass responded to the outcry by tweeting, Grow up people! A handful of private citizens were invited to talk about Health Care. I have questions just like you- and I brought in several that my fans have brought up. Im not writing any laws here. Dont hate because Im trying to get educated.
This comes just one day after comedy website Funny or Die released a video with actor Zach Galifianakis interviewing President Obama. The star poked fun at Obamacares website woes and acted as though he had a pre-existing condition of spider bites, which the President of course assured him would be covered.
I think its fair to say that I wouldnt be with you here today if I didnt have something to plug, Obama said in the video. He promised that HealthCare.gov works great now and expressed hope that young people would sign up.
The young people theyre targeting now are the ones they didnt get with the singing animals video, porta-potty ads, brosurance ad campaign, NFL football tie-ins, pub crawls, Magic Johnson, or any number of other gimmicks theyve tried.
The White House bragged about the traffic Funny or Die was sending to HealthCare.gov. But site traffic doesnt equal Obamacare enrollment. Actually, the administration still isnt saying how many Americans are enrolled in Obamacareit keeps touting the number of people who have selected a plan on the website, regardless of whether theyve paid a premium.
Obamacare is a disaster. And the White Houses outreach strategy is comicalwhen it doesnt mean to be.
Pathetic.
White House Budget May Reduce Patient Access to Medical Imaging

The new White House budget may adversely affect patient access to advanced medical imaging technologies, according to a release issued by the Access to Medical Imaging Coalition (AMIC).
President Obamas 2015 budget not only tries to close a loophole in the anti-self-referral law by eliminating the In-Office Ancillary Services Exception for diagnostic imaging, radiation oncology, physical therapy and anatomic pathology, but the budget plan also recommends prior authorization for power mobility devices and advanced imaging.
President Obamas budget threatens patient access to care and important imaging services through burdensome prior authorization requirements, Tim Trysla, exectutive director of AMIC, said in a release. The organization would prefer to see adoption of physician-developed appropriate use criteria (AUC), which has been proven effective in driving appropriate imaging use.
The American College of Radiology (ACR) is also opposed to the budget plan.
Numerous studies have shown prior authorization increases medical costs and administrative red tape while burdening patients and physicians with potential treatment delays, the College stated.
The Medical Imaging & Technology Alliance (MITA) had already expressed concern over preauthorization in 2013, in response to the 2014 budget, which also called for pre-authorization, stating in a release: This provision was included in spite of the Office of Management and Budget (OMB)s acknowledgement that a prior authorization policy will yield no savings.
A study published in the Journal of the American College of Radiology in June 2011 evaluated the utility of radiology benefit managers (RBMs) and results showed that relying on RBMs to conduct prior authorization for advanced imaging increased costs and red tape, which placed additional burdens on clinicians and potentially delayed treatment.
Pathetic, and probably end of the road on propaganda resources.
He's a tool of the state. He's being brought "on-board" and will be given media exposure if he propagandizes this boondoggle.
Rationing. All foretold in the run-up to Idiotcare.
Pathetic.
At least dress him up in pajamas and hand him a cup of hot chocolate.
It's the look, you know.
Hollywood types are careful never to associate with has-beens as the association is contagious. You’d think the White House could bribe some presently popular people, unless they tried and found out that they’re has-beens themselves.
This guy talks about his fans. Really?!
The choice is so gay....: )
It's all fun and games until they break down your door at night and put a gun in your face.
> Perfect choice of words...has to be made up its so funny...: )
I think its fair to say that I wouldnt be with you here today if I didnt have something to plug, Obama said in the video

Probably the exact words said to Lance by 0 too...
Will the Death Panels decide to give him pain meds instead of treatment when he is in the final stages of AIDS?
Don't be rude, Obama and Biden love this gay,err guy!
I also was scheduled to go see Obama at the White House to see how I could help promote his agenda, but I texted him and asked him over to my place instead.
Then I tweeted everyone else I knew, telling them that I had done so.
Then about twenty Federal agencies sent me text messages and/or emails trying to coordinate the event.
I then put on my blog that I was giving my dog a bath in preparation of the Prez’s visit.
This was picked up by an EPA drone, and they then sent a SWAT team over to confiscate the shampoo for testing.
They noticed that the bath water had created a small puddle in my driveway, and arrested me for violations of the Clean Water Act.
Meanwhile, my gay spouse got an emergency text off to Obama, telling him the get together was probably off.
He texted back that he was bringing some really good weed for the occasion, and really looking forward to exploring the ways we could be of service to him, and therefore had called off the arrest.
Then I decided to post this on FR before he shows up . . . oh, wait. There’s the limo now. Gotta go.
Isn’t the actor who played Kumar working in the West Wing?
Obabble Lips have to use people because he found out that he can't get on his own health care program. Let the doctors ignore Obabbler like he ignores the will of the people.(sarcasm)
The story didn’t even mention Pajama Boy. How soon they forget!
Homosexual never-wuzzes have been promoting it for some time. http://newsbusters.org/blogs/pj-gladnick/2014/01/17/bizarre-richard-simmons-obamacare-commercial-performance You will want at least a five gallon bucket nearby: The unspeakably fagtastic video provokes a gag reflex beyond the ability of even the strongest stomach to suppress.
