Sen. Charles Schumer (D-N.Y.) on Friday warned that Republicans would have to watch helplessly while President Obama curbs deportations, unless the GOP helps move a comprehensive immigration package in the House.
Schumer, one of the leaders of the Senate’s Gang of Eight that pushed through a comprehensive immigration package last year, said it is clear where the issue of immigration reform is heading. “They can either help pass comprehensive reform, which will greatly reduce the flow of illegal immigrants, grow our economy by bringing in needed workers in high-tech and agriculture areas, and provide a hard-earned path to eventual citizenship for the 11 million in the shadows,” he said in a Facebook post, “or they can sit idly by and watch the President greatly curtail deportations while 11 million continue to live in limbo here in America.”
The comments came a day after President Obama directed the Department of Homeland Security to find a way to enforce deportation laws more humanely.
Schumer said the choice is clear.
“A reform bill has the support of liberals, moderates, and conservatives and all we need is the courage of the Republican leadership to make the right and obvious choice,” he said.
Obama made his direction after a meeting with leaders of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus.
Immigration advocates and some Democrats, in particular Rep. Luis Gutiérrez (D-Ill.), have been pressing the administration to use its power to slow the rate of deportations, which have reached nearly 2 million during his administration.
“The president emphasized his deep concern about the pain too many families feel from the separation that comes from our broken immigration system,” the White House said in a readout after the meeting Thursday.

Curtail? Obama & ICE have been slowing down deportations for several years. Even those with orders to go are set free and ICE pretends they will show up later to get on the plane to go. Obama’s “curtail” must means those previously sent away get a free return ticket to our USA. Say NO to the amnesty bill.
Time for some selective enforcement against him.
That’s my thought as well. If Obama unilaterally curtailing deportations eliminates the possibility of the GOPe negotiating a path to citizenship for tens of millions of new Democrat voters, it’s an ok price to pay.
Added bonus is that any/all crime committed by those allowed to stay gets hung on Obama and the Dems.

Removal from Office by the US Senate can ONLY be accomplished AFTER a Chief Executive is Impeached by the US House of Representatives.
The House is analogous to the Police, and the Senate is analogous the Judge and Jury.
First the House must Impeach Obama.
Then the Senate determines if the Impeached Obama should be removed from office.
Most FReepers fall in the all or nothing camp, and only want to consider a clear path to Removal from Office.
Our Constitution makes it very clear: Impeach first by the House, and then have the Senate decide on Removal.
The objective is to punish Obama for his many violations of his sacred oath to defend the US Constitution.
Although bi-weekly Impeachments for at least a year of B. Hussein Obama would be required to punish him for all of his Constitutional violations over the last 5 years, just one Impeachment is an achievable goal in the summer of 2014.
Obama’s Removal from Office by the US Senate would be good for America, but unlikely before 2015 as Reid’s US Senate has not yet demonstrated any interest in what is good for America.
Since the RINOs now have control of the US House of Representatives in 2014, then 2014 is the last year that we can be certain that Obama could be Impeached.
The RINOs assume that they will maintain control of the US House, but their usual desire to lose to Democrats is so strong, that their assumption may not be a valid one.
Thus, a reasonable plan to Remove Obama from Office would be to Impeach Obama in the Summer of 2014, hold that Impeachment during the Autumn Election Campaign, and then send the completed Impeachment of Obama to the US Senate in 2015 one week after the newly elected Republican Senators are sworn in.
The Republicans would then have a clear National Voter Referendum on what the voter loyalty is towards Obama and his past Five Year Plan:
“IF YOU DON’T LIKE WHAT OBAMA HAS DONE IN THE LAST 5 YEARS TO “FUNDAMENTALLY CHANGE THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA,” THEN VOTE FOR YOUR REPUBLICAN SENATOR AND HOUSE REPRESENTATIVE.”
As Speaker Newt Gingrich proved to us with his “Contract With America:” Republicans win when they actively campaign on the basic Republican truth that “All Politics are National.”
Thus, the 2014 Republican Candidates for House and Senate would have the assured Removal from Office of Obama as another excellent reason to vote a straight Republican ticket, in addition to the other Campaign issues such as Obamacare, Benghazi, IRS, NSA, and all of the other Obama Scandals.
Hopefully, the Democrats and the Left Stream Media will accuse the RINOs of “using the blame game by playing politics to use the Obama “phony” scandals as a political football to quiet their extremist TEA Party base by trying to Impeach the first Nobel Peace Prize wining Commander in Chief.”
Come to think of it, their comments are EXACTLY what our Founding Fathers would have expected from supporters of those who are undergoing Constitutional Checks and Balances.

Seems to me that chucky ought to look at, read about, speak to each and every victim of an Illegal Immigrant who broke our laws, shouldn’t have been here and killed/injured/victimized An American Citizen.
