Both were on the left, despite what the national socialist left in this country would like to deny.
The one hour and 24 minute version was refusing to work today so I’ll start with part one and go on up.
By the way, I have BACKSTAGE AT THE KIROV which was produced by Armand Hammer. Of course the beauty of Russian ballet precedes communism but in the film the ballerinas are seen on stage, backstage, practicing in the studio, and on the wide streets of Leningrad but not in their apartments and not shopping. That would have been difficult to show without their situation looking quite poor compared to the West.
Thanks, I’ll be checking this out tonight..

One of the quotes I remember, paraphrasing: "In every country where socialism/communism is instituted, 10% of the population ends up getting killed, whether it's USSR, Poland, Nicaragua, Cuba or Venezuela" Current US population is 313.9 million (2012). That's 31.4 million Americans.
Why does America seem hell bent on rushing to socialism?
"2010 Director's Edition of Edvins Snore's award-winning documentary, now with subtitles in 30 languages. Tells the story of the Soviet regime and how the Soviet Union helped Nazi Germany instigate the Holocaust. Other topics covered by the film: - The Great Famine in Ukraine (1932/33) - The Katyn massacre (1940) - The SS-KGB partnership - French Communists and the Nazis - Soviet mass deportations - Medical experiments in the GULAG. The Soviet Story was filmed over 2 years in Russia, Ukraine, Latvia, Germany, France, UK and Belgium. The film includes recently uncovered archive documents and interviews with former Soviet Military intelligence officials. As a result, The Soviet Story presents a truly unique insight into recent Soviet history, told by people, once Soviet citizens, who have first-hand knowledge of it. The Soviet Story also discusses the impact of the Soviet legacy on modern day Europe. Listen to experts and European MPs discussing the implications of a selective attitude towards mass murder; and meet a woman describing the burial of her new born son in a GULAG concentration camp. The Soviet Story is a story of pain, injustice and realpolitik."
"I knew a lot about the Soviet regime (I grew up in a Communist country). Still, this movie is shocking and, as far as I know, genuine and based on facts, documents, and eyewitness reports. Naked, although shocking and thought-provoking truth. People interviewed in the movie are not some obscure conspiracy theorist -- they are known experts in history, international politics, and Soviet dealings (Davies, Sokolov, Bukovsky, or formed Soviet spy, now writer, Suvorov). The movie summarizes what is known about Nazi German atrocities along with Soviet Russian atrocities, what is known about the plan (followed by actions, such as Soviet invasions of Poland, Baltic republics, and Finland) of Nazi Germany and Soviet Russia to divide Europe, and also not widely known facts about collaboration between Gestapo and NKVD in the early years of the WWII, that resulted, for example, in shipping Jews who escaped the Nazis back to German-occupied territories, where most of them perished. One of the main points of the documentary is that Germany had a chance to reform, sanitize its leadership from the Nazis. Russia has never prosecuted communist crimes against humanity. German Nazis have been chased all over the World and brought to justice. Russian communist perpetrators of crimes against humanity are enjoying protection of not only Russia but also, indirectly, former WWII allies. I keep being amazed by the naïveté of the Western European and World leaders when watching the political dealings with Russia. This movie is an absolute must for anybody interested in history and politics."
