When I do it, that's different. Everybody says that. John Clark's lament, paraphrased, (Sum of all Fears, maybe?)

Kind of like my divorce doesn’t make my Christianity hypocritical...I’m not sorry if that hurts, but God knows people will justify anything to avoid the truth.

Bob Costas: My Armed Security Doesn't Make Me a Hypocrite on Guns

No, but it might make you an elitist.

I like you Bob. Please, let the gun thing go. People have a right to defend themselves. A society with defended citizens is much safer that a society with defenseless citizens. Common, Bob, you're a sensible guy. Let it go, Bro.

So it's okay hire a bodyguard with a gun, but not okay to train and arm myself for the same function?

I really do not like Howard Kurtz’ “Media Matters” show on Fox. He had a little panel discussing CPAC, and Paul and Cruz leading the pack. Every one of his 3 panelists discounted the seriousness of their presence. (But when it was Christy, their comments ascribed seriousness to him...even though they discounted his candidacy.)

And that’s just one example. This one about the interview with Costas doesn’t really tell the story. If Kurtz had been any more deferential, Costas would’ve had to stoop to talk to a kneeling Kurtz.

What in the hell does Bob Costas do anymore anyway? He’s probably making controversial comments to get attention with the goal of staying ‘relevant’. He sure as hell isn’t calling any football games, or hosting a pregame or halftime show....

I took his statements to Kurtz just the other way. I think what he was trying to say was that his problem isn’t with guns, or with people owning guns. He was trying to point out a problem in the NFL with a culture (I think he meant specifically GANGS) where guns were part of that unhealthy life. He was contrasting that diseased culture with the country at large.

It was a very different angle than I’d heard before.

Protection for me, but not for thee.

These liberal snakes do not understand that everybody has right to life and liberty, which means the right to defend themselves. Firearms are great equalizers, so for the sake of equality, the right to bear arm is every free person’s human right.
