The Battle of Athens was an armed rebellion led by WWII veterans and citizens in Athens and Etowah, Tennessee, United States, against the tyrannical local government in August 1946.
I am reposting this as this is an important piece of history related to the 2A which is never taught in schools but should be. Please spend 10 minutes viewing this and pass the word and the link.

Love it!
Where are the ballots being stolen and rigged. We need
to know where and how this is happening.
Not by the blood of patriots, but by the blood of PARROTS?
;)
I wonder how many people looked right at it and never even noticed.

Glen Beck's new book, Miracles and Massacres, has a chapter about the Battle of Athens. Sole reason I bought the book.
Thanks.....didn’t know that. It goes without saying, that every American should be aware of the Battle of Athens. This should be mandatory teaching in schools.
A part of true American History that will never ever be taught in any school system. It is too dangerous.
One other comment: I now fully understand why the liberal, leftist, progressive, socialist, communist cabal that makes up the current administration has been declaring returned combat veterans right-wing terrorists. After all our vets from 2010 are exactly the same as the vets from 1946 and that scares the heck out of the liberal, leftist, progressive, socialist, communist cabal. See they read real history while trying to ensure that the rest of us don’t.
Yes, Texas is a big red state, but believe me there's lots of loonies here too. We do our best not to let them get elected to office where they can cause problems, but sometime it does happen. The remedy is to vote them out asap. Then, there's Sheila Jackson Lee - that's another story!
I work the polls every election, I usually request Democrat areas and make sure I report every voting abnormality to the Texas Secretary of State. Several of us have caught and reported voting infractions. It will take you and other like-minded citizens to make a difference.
texgal, have you ever BEEN to Connecticut? - these aren't normal Americans here - lots of very rich (Obama-bundlers) and lots of very poor, and not much in-between.
Just a handful tryin' to keep the lights on - heck, they won't even elect a LIBERAL Republican, never mind a conservative.
Why do I stay here? It's my home - I'm an American - Americans don't run away (except to reload).
By God's good grace I was born and raised in Texas (5th generation), have lived here all my life and hope to die and be buried here.
I have visited liberal states but not Connecticut.
The guys in Athens were not rich, they simply demanded their rights. You can't be the only one who thinks like you do (freedom loving American). Find those people and network with them. Contact the folks at True the Vote and see if they have groups in your area. You might get criticism but that means you are probably doing something right. We have to demand our rights through free and fair elections.
