The biggest threat to our Republic is over-spending, accumulating national debt and eventual unavoidable bankruptcy. When USA was the economic powerhouse and financial leader of the world during latter half of the 20th century, it was a true superpower.
Spending Trillions in middle-east to protect oil supply to China & Japan with money borrowed from both is as stupid as she gets. A country in debt bigger than GDP can not play the role of a superpower and world policeman.
