How does a plane disintegrate in mid air due to mechanical problems?

The twilight zone. Or the Triangle. It’s in an alternative world.

Massive engine failure could see pieces of motor hurtling through the wings and fuselage doing serious damage and weakening the structure to the point of breaking up.

However, the source said the closest parallels were the explosion on board an Air India jetliner in 1985 when it was over the Atlantic Ocean and the Lockerbie air disaster in 1988. Both planes were cruising at around 31,000 feet when bombs exploded on board......................I'll go with something like this...or a Chinese missile.

It would have to be a bomb, either that or a catastrophe like in Final Destination, a fuel leak internally.

The “mechanical problem” or force of a bomb or missile blast can be the “mechanical problem” that brings down a plane
just sayin...
otherwise, the explanation is probably something very simple and everyday...like the plane’s “manufacturer’s warranty” ran out the day prior...

Four bad passports could equal four terrorists, each with 3-4. 3oz. bottles of “toiletries” . That’s as much as 48 oz. of gel.

How does a plane disintegrate in mid air due to mechanical problems? They don't. To argue that they "can" would put us in the category of debating a chance to win the lottery.
No mayday. Not even the automated mayday that the plane automatically sends out. No flight deviation noted. No altitude deviation noted. Just gone. It disintegrated (blew up) at 35,000.

The stolen passports is certainly suspect, but I am wondering if the ‘wing tip bump’ this aircraft had awhile back caused a more serious crack where the wing adjoins with the fuselage, causing it to tear off in flight. Unlikely, but worth looking into.

How does a plane disintegrate in mid air due to mechanical problems?Flight 587 broke up when it's tail fell off. That doesn't, however, mean there would be no debris. That's just foolish. A mid air break up should leave more debris.

Didn’t we have a space shuttle disintegrate and leave debris across the country?

Mid-air disintegration without a debris field!
Did anyone ever see that sci-fi movie, "Millenium"?

A door fails and creates drag. The airflow rips the rear of the plane up.

If this aircraft had disintegrated at altitude, it would seem the debris trail would be long and broad. The fact that nothing can be found has me scratching my head.

How does a plane disintegrate in mid air due to mechanical problems? Someone bought a fraudulent engine part which failed causing the engine to become little more than a large proximity fuzed warehead.

If the aircraft disintegrated, I would think that there would have been a large radar plume, if it was in range of radar.

How does a plane disintegrate in mid air due to mechanical problems? The center fuel tank explodes...all on its own.....with a highly improbable low voltage 'spark'.
