Damn. He almost made it to his 89th birthday, which would have been Friday.
Ford Motor operated a Great Lakes steamship line for their iron ore and coal requirements. One of the boats was named William Clay Ford.
Now the Lions have a chance at a winning season.
CC
there have been studies that show men tend to die right before their birthdays, and women tend to die right after their birthdays...
>vaulted Detroit Lions
vaunted
So much for speech type!!
“>vaulted Detroit Lions
vaunted”
No, I think you had it right the first time.
I know! Sadly, that was my first thoughts too. May he rest in peace.
Oh good! I have a terminal illness. Birthday last of July. Grandson graduating Summa from college first week in August. My goal for hanging on!. BTW, my husband died July 8. Born July 21. May be some truth to this.
What is it you were trying to say??? Vaulted? Vaulted?
My grandmother died precisely on the 5th anniversary of my grandfather’s death. He died one day before his 84th birthday. Anniversaries have an impact.
Sr. was a heavy drinker back in the day and some in the community used to make sure he got home or into a hotel room in one piece. Son Bill Jr. said in article:
Ford Sr. similarly managed to beat a problem with alcohol: After years of hard drinking, he just stopped one day in 1965.
His son once told the Detroit Free Press that he doesn’t remember his father’s drinking or the Alcoholics Anonymous meetings held at the family mansion.
Me too! No time like the present I thought.
Jefferson and Adams died on the same day. July 4th, 182(something).
He was a WW II veteran and served in the Navy. RIP.
May God Bless You .
Congrats on your difficult decision.
“...just made a decision and toughed it out...”
God bless. Good job. Stay with it.
It isn’t easy. My father in law was sober 17 years, and every day was a struggle. But he helped other people as well, did the AA meetings, was a friend to people that needed a friend.
He was a genuinely decent man, and just had some tough breaks in life. But he put the bottle down and became a stronger person as a result.
We all take damage in our run through life; it’s how we deal with that damage that matters - and sometimes, the choices we make make the damage worse.
